Alex Cabagnot
Alexander Cabagnot Jr. (born December 8, 1982) is a Filipino professional basketball player for the Basilan Viva Portmasters of the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL) and assistant coach for the UE Red Warriors of the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP). He played for Sta. Lucia, Coca-Cola, Burger King, San Miguel/Petron, GlobalPort, Terrafirma and Converge as well as the Philippine national basketball team. He plays the point guard and shooting guard positions. He once had a rivalry with Mark Caguioa for the Eagle Rock High School scoring record. Professional career He was drafted by the Sta. The San Miguel Beermen are a professional basketball team in the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA). It is one of three PBA clubs owned by the San Miguel Corporation group of companies along with Barangay Ginebra San Miguel and Magnolia Chicken Timplados Hotshots. It is the most successful franchise in the history of the PBA and the only remaining original franchise in the league. The Beermen have the most titles with 29 and the most all-time victories with more than 1,200 wins. In addition, it has won the Grand Slam in and the Perpetual Jun Bernardino Trophy after winning three straight PBA Philippine Cups from 2015 to 2017. Basilan Viva Portmasters
The Basilan Starhorse, previously known as Basilan Viva Portmasters, is a Filipino professional basketball team based in Lamitan, Lamitan, Basilan. The team competes in the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL) as a member of the league's South Division (MPBL), South Division. The team most recently played its home games at Lamitan Capitol Gym. The team began playing as the Basilan Steel in the 2018–19 MPBL season as part of the league's national expansion. In 2021, they renamed as the Basilan Peace Riders upon moving to the Pilipinas VisMin Super Cup, where they won their only league championship. In 2022, the team moved leagues once again, this time to the Pilipinas Super League (PSL) before going back to the MPBL in 2025. The Converge FiberXers are a professional basketball team owned by Converge ICT. The team competes in the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA). The franchise began after acquiring the former Alaska Aces franchise on March 23, 2022. History Formation On February 16, 2022, Alaska Milk Corporation (AMC) announced that the Alaska Aces would leave the PBA at the end of the 2021 Governors' Cup. This was due to a directive by FrieslandCampina, parent company of AMC. Several companies expressed interest to buy the Aces or its franchise.
