Aleksandr Selevko
Aleksandr Selevko (born 23 May 2001) is an Estonian figure skater. He is the 2024 European Figure Skating Championships, 2024 European silver medalist, a two-time ISU Challenger Series bronze medalist, the 2019 Nordic Figure Skating Championships, Nordics bronze medalist, and a three-time Estonian Figure Skating Championships, Estonian national champion (2020–22). He represented Estonia at the 2022 Winter Olympics, and is the first Estonian skater to win a medal at a senior international championship. Personal life Selevko was born on May 23, 2001 in Jõgeva, Estonia to Ukrainians, Ukrainian immigrants Halyna and Anatoliy Selevko. His mother is an accountant, and his father is a computer programmer. Selevko's younger brother, Mihhail Selevko, Mihhail, also represents Estonia internationally in figure skating. The 2016 World Junior Figure Skating Championships were held from 14–20 March 2016 in Debrecen, Hungary. Commonly called "World Juniors" and "Junior Worlds", the event determined the World Junior champions in the disciplines of men's singles, ladies' singles, pair skating, and ice dancing. The Estonian Figure Skating Championships () are an annual figure skating competition organized by the Estonian Skating Union () to crown the national champions of Estonia. The first Estonian Championships were held in 1917 in Tallinn and consisted of men's singles, women's singles, and pair skating. Ice dance was added as an event in 1948. There were numerous interruptions to the championships during the Soviet occupation of Estonia.
