Alcy Jackson
Alcy Jackson (born 1955) is a former athlete who competed in football, track, and basketball. Jackson grew up in Dallas, Texas, where he graduated from South Oak Cliff High School (SOC) in 1973. High School Sports At SOC, Jackson played three sports. In track & field, Jackson's best event was the 120 yard high hurdles; in his senior year, he ran that distance in 13.9 seconds, which was the fastest time in the state among high school sprinters that year, as well as the 4th fastest time in the country. In basketball, Jackson led a team that competed deep into the state playoffs. In football, he played quarterback and wide receiver on offense and was first team All State at defensive back. In 1981, ''D Magazine'' compiled its list of the greatest high school football players in Dallas history. The Southwest Conference (SWC) was an NCAA Division I college athletic conference in the United States that existed from 1914 to 1996. Composed primarily of schools from Texas, at various times the conference also included schools from Oklahoma and Arkansas. The Southern Methodist University football scandal occurred in 1987 when the SMU Mustangs football program was investigated and penalized by the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). Southern Methodist University (SMU), located in suburban Dallas, Texas, was the second-smallest school in the Southwest Conference (SWC) and one of the smallest in Division I-A, with a total enrollment of just over 9,000 students in 1986. Grant Teaff
Grant Garland Teaff (; born November 12, 1933) is a former American football player and coach. He served as the head coach at McMurry University (1960–1965), Angelo State University (1969–1971), and Baylor University (1972–1992), compiling a career college football record of 170–151–8. In his 21 seasons as head coach of the Baylor Bears football team, Teaff's teams won two Southwest Conference titles and appeared in eight bowl games. Michael Lynn Downs (born June 9, 1959) is a former American football safety in the National Football League (NFL) for the Dallas Cowboys and Phoenix Cardinals. South Oak Cliff High School (colloquially referred to as SOC, pronounced "sock") is a public secondary school located in the Oak Cliff area of Dallas, Texas, United States. Danny Joel Colbert (born December 15, 1950) is an American former professional football player. Early life Colbert was born in Corsicana, Texas, grew up in Dallas, Texas and graduated from South Oak Cliff High School in 1969. In high school, he starred in the long jump as well in football at running back and defensive back. At one 1969 national track meet in California, Colbert's long jump was 23 feet, 6.5 inches.
