Pablo Alberto Cerioni, known as Alberto Cerioni, Paolo Cerioni or Alberto Paolo Cerioni (October 1, 19191948) was an Argentine professional football player. Career Cerioni began playing football with Gimnasia y Esgrima de La Plata Club de Gimnasia y Esgrima La Plata (; ''La Plata Gymnastics and Fencing Club''), also known simply as Gimnasia, is an Argentine professional sports club based in the city of La Plata, Buenos Aires Province. Founded in 1887 as "Club de Gimnasia ..., making his debut in a league match against San Lorenzo on 23 October 1938. He appeared in 87 league matches and scored 35 goals for Gimnasia during his career. His brothers Enrique Cerioni and Héctor Cerioni also played football professionally. La Plata () is the capital city of Buenos Aires province, Argentina. According to the 2022 Argentina census, census, the La Plata Partido, Partido has a population of 772,618 and its metropolitan area, the Greater La Plata, has 938,287 inhabitants. It is located 9 kilometers (6 miles) inland from the southern shore of the estuary.
