Fatih Akin (, born 25 August 1973) is a Turkish-German film director, screenwriter and producer. His films have won numerous awards and accolades, including the Golden Bear at the Berlin Film Festival for his film '' Head-On'' (2004), Best Screenplay at the Cannes Film Festival for his film '' The Edge of Heaven'' (2007), and the Golden Globe Award for Best Foreign Language Film for his film '' In the Fade'' (2017). Sunay Akın (born 12 September 1962) is a Turkish people, Turkish poet, writer, TV host, journalist, and a philanthropist. He is the founder of Istanbul Toy Museum. Akın was born in Trabzon, Turkey. Akın is best known for his poetry; his primary influences include Orhan Veli Kanık and Cemal Süreya. His poems are generally lyric, short, and soft in tone. He also often makes use of satirical forms and puns. Şenol Akın (born 20 December 1984) is a Turkish former professional Association football, footballer who played as a midfielder. Özge Akın (née Gürler, born June 17, 1985) is a Turkish sprinter competing in the 400 m events. She is the current Turkish record holder of the 400 m hurdles events. Following her marriage to her coach, her surname changed to Akın, although she was also subsequently known by the surname Akın-Gürler. Competing initially in the long jump and running sprint and middle distance, she specialized in 400 m and 400 m hurdles following her coach's recommendation. Nazan Akın Güneş (born Nazan Akın on 1 September 1983, in Diyarbakır, Turkey) is a Turkish visually impaired judoka ( disability class B3) competing in the +70 kg division. She won the silver medal at the 2012 Paralympics and the bronze medal at the 2024 Paralympics. Sport career Nazan Akın took the bronze medal at the 2008 German Open. İbrahim Akın (born 4 January 1984) is a Turkish former professional footballer who played as a left winger. He is a part of the management of Altay. Gülten Akın (23 January 1933 – 4 November 2015) was a Turkish poet. Her poetry is considered to be culturally significant to Turkey. Akin was born in 1933 in Yozgat, Turkey. She attended Beşiktaş Atatürk Anatolian High School and graduated from Ankara University Law School in 1955. She married her husband Yaşar Cankoçak in 1956, with whom she had five children.
