Ajlan Büyükburç
Ajlan Büyükburç (13 November 1970 – 22 July 1999) was a Turkish singer. Life Ajlan Büyükburç was born in 1970 to Erol Büyükburç and Türkan Türker. Her parents later had a younger daughter named Jeyan. At the age of eight, Büyükburç started learning guitar from her father. Having an archive of her father's three thousand records, Büyükburç had said that she started playing jazz music thanks to him. At the age of 17, she began performing Turkish songs and later became a backing vocalist for Fatih Erkoç. While studying at Nişantaşı Anadolu Lisesi, she participated in the High School Music Competition organized by ''Milliyet'' and was chosen as the "Best Female Teenage Soloist". She had her debut at the Aziz Üstel's TV program ''Gecenin Konukları'' after which she became famous. Through this program she met Mine Çağlıyan, with whom she formed the duo Ajlan-Mine. ''Sabah'' is a Turkish daily newspaper, with a circulation of around 330,000 as of 2011. Its name means "morning" in Turkish language, Turkish. The newspaper was founded in İzmir by Dinç Bilgin on 22 April 1985. In 2007, the government of Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan seized the newspaper, citing a legal document that had not been disclosed to authorities when ''Sabah'' was sold in 2001. Ownership of the newspaper was given to the Savings Deposit Insurance Fund of Turkey. Aysel Gürel
Gönül Aysel Gürel (7 February 1929 – 17 February 2008) was a Turkish lyricist and actress. Besides her lyrics, which were performed by singers throughout Turkey, she was known for her outlandish clothing, make up and wigs. Biography Aysel Gürel was born in 1929 in Denizli, Turkey, in the western part of the country. She graduated from Istanbul University with a faculty of literature degree. Her lyrics were performed by such noted Turkish singers as Sezen Aksu. Besides lyric writing, Gürel also worked as an actress, drama player and a Turkologist. In 2007, Gürel appeared in a Turkish television commercial for Pepsi. Gürel was admitted to Metropolitan Florence Nightingale Hospital in Istanbul in December 2007. She was reportedly ill with lung cancer. She died of chronic bronchitis at the age of 79 on 17 February 2008 in Istanbul. ''Radikal'' () was a daily liberal Turkish language newspaper, published in Istanbul. From 1996 it was published by Aydın Doğan's Doğan Media Group. Although Radikal did not endorse a particular political alignment, it was generally considered by the public to be a social liberal newspaper.
