Ajit Anantrao Pawar (Marathi pronunciation: �d͡ʒit̪ pəʋaːɾ born 22 July 1959) is an Indian politician serving as the Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra along with Eknath Shinde under Devendra Fadnavis since 5 December 2024. He is the longest serving Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra non-consecutively. He has served this position for 6 terms within various governments. He has worked as deputy chief minister within the cabinets of Prithviraj Chavan, Devendra Fadnavis, Uddhav Thackeray and Eknath Shinde. He served as the Leader of the Opposition in the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly from 2022 to 2023 and represented Baramati Lok Sabha constituency in 1991. Rahul Narwekar is an Indian politician and member of the Bharatiya Janata Party. He is currently the MLA from the Colaba Assembly constituency and also the current Speaker of the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly. The Speaker of the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly is the presiding officer of the Legislative Assembly of Maharashtra, the main law-making body for the Indian state of Maharashtra. The Speaker is elected in the very first meeting of the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly after the general elections for a term of 5 years from amongst the members of the assembly. The chief minister of Maharashtra (IAST: Mahārāṣṭrāce Mukhyamaṃtrī) is the head of the executive branch of the government of the Indian state of Maharashtra. Following elections to the Legislative Assembly, the governor invites the party (or coalition) with a majority of seats to form the government and appoints the chief minister. Prithviraj Chavan was sworn in as the Chief Minister of Maharashtra on 11 November 2010. The following is his cabinet.
