''Kicker'' (stylized in all lowercase) is Germany's leading sports magazine, focused primarily on Association football, football. The magazine was founded in 1920 by German football pioneer Walther Bensemann and is published twice weekly, usually Monday and Thursday. Each edition sells around 80,000 copies. ''Kicker'' is a founding member of European Sports Media, an association of football publications. 1995–96 UEFA Champions League
The 1995–96 UEFA Champions League was the 41st season of UEFA's premier European club football tournament, and the fourth since its rebranding as the UEFA Champions League. The tournament was won by Juventus, who beat defending champions Ajax on penalties in the final for their first European Cup since 1985, and their second overall. It was the only Champions League title that Juventus won in the 1990s, despite reaching the next two finals, and one of only three Italian wins in the final, despite there being a Serie A club in every final for seven consecutive years from 1992 to 1998. The 1994–95 UEFA Champions League was the 40th edition of UEFA's premier European club football tournament, and the third since its rebranding as the UEFA Champions League. 1995 UEFA Super Cup
The 1995 UEFA Super Cup was a two-legged match contested between the UEFA Cup Winners' Cup holders Zaragoza and the UEFA Champions League holders Ajax. The cup was played later than usual, the two legs taking place in February 1996. The first leg was drawn 1–1 at La Romareda in Zaragoza. The second leg was won 4–0 by Ajax at the Olympic Stadium in Amsterdam. Ajax won 5–1 on aggregate. The 1995 Intercontinental Cup was an association football match played on 28 November 1995 between Ajax, winners of the 1994–95 UEFA Champions League, and Grêmio, winners of the 1995 Copa Libertadores. The match was played at the National Stadium in Tokyo. It was Ajax's second appearance into the competition, after the victory in 1972; moreover, Ajax declined to play in 1971 and 1973, being replaced by Panathinaikos and Juventus respectively. 1972 European Super Cup
The 1972 European Super Cup was a football match played over two legs between the winner of the 1971–72 European Cup and the winner of the 1971–72 European Cup Winners' Cup. The match was proposed by Anton Witkamp of ''De Telegraaf'' to decide who was the best club in Europe. History In 1972, Witkamp proposed the idea to Jaap van Praag, the then president of Ajax, who were holders of the European Cup at that time. The idea was then taken to UEFA to seek official endorsement; however Artemio Franchi, the president of UEFA at that time, rejected the idea as the reigning European Cup Winners' Cup champions— Rangers—were serving a one-year ban at the time imposed by UEFA for the alleged misbehaviour of their fans. 1971–72 KNVB Cup
The 1971-72 KNVB Cup was the 54th edition of the Dutch national football annual knockout tournament for the KNVB Cup. 32 teams contested, beginning on 9 January 1972 and ending at the final on 11 May 1972.
