Aidas Preikšaitis
Aidas Preikšaitis (born 15 July 1970) is a Lithuanian former professional association football, footballer who played as a midfielder. Club career Preikšaitis was born in Akmenė. He represented FK Žalgiris Vilnius, Žalgiris from 1989 to 1997. His former teams include 1. FC Union Berlin, Kickers Emden, KSZO Ostrowiec Świętokrzyski, Wisła Płock and Świt Nowy Dwór Mazowiecki. He played 6 games and scored 1 goal in the UEFA Intertoto Cup 1997 for FC Torpedo Moscow, Torpedo-Luzhniki Moscow. International career Preikšaitis made 48 appearances for the Lithuania national football team from 1992 to 2006. Akmenė
Akmenė () is a city in northern Lithuania. Following the discovery of large reserves of limestone and clay in the region, in 1947 construction work began on one of the largest cement production complexes in the Baltic States. Nearby, a new town grew up which was to become the region's administrative centre: Naujoji Akmenė ("New Akmenė"). Name Most probably the name is derived from a rivulet that flows north of the town: the Akmenupis Rivulet, Akmenupis (approximate meaning – "river with a lot of stones"). The Baltic Cup (, , ) is an international football competition contested by the national teams of the Baltic states – Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. Sometimes guests from the Northern Europe subregion are also invited: Finland has participated in the event twice, Iceland once, and Faroe Islands made a debut appearance in 2024. Though originally held annually, the competition has been biennial since 2008. It is one of the oldest national teams football tournaments in Europe after the British Home Championship, and the oldest of the ones still organized. Lithuanian Football Cup
The Lithuanian Football Federation Cup (), also known as Hegelmann LFF Cup for sponsorship reasons, is a Lithuanian football cup competition contested in a knockout tournament format. The winner of the cup gains entitlement to participate in the Lithuanian Supercup as well as the UEFA Europa Conference League. Participation is mandatory for the clubs playing in A Lyga and I Lyga. Participation is voluntary for all lower division teams as long as they meet basic eligibility criteria. Club reserve and youth teams are not eligible to participate.
