Peñas De Aya
Aiako Harria in Basque language, Basque or Peñas de Aya in Spanish language, Spanish, is a massif east of the town of Oiartzun in the Basque Country (greater region), Basque Country. The river Oiartzun (river), Oiartzun rises on its north-western face. The range is very popular with the inhabitants of the area. Other neighbouring towns are Irun on the north and Lesaka on the east. The massif comprises three summits extending 4-odd kilometres north to south in a row, namely Irumugarrieta (806 m), Txurrumurru (821 m) and Erroilbide (837 m). Oiartzun (, ) is a town and municipality located in the Basque Country, in the province of Gipuzkoa lying at the foot of the massif Aiako Harria (Peñas de Aya in Spanish). Etymology The name traces back to ''Oiasso'' or ''Oiarso'', a Roman town closely connected to the ''Arditurri'' mines in the massif of Aiako Harria, which contained large amounts of silver and copper. However, it has been pinpointed to the current border town of Irun, so the name may have referred to the whole area. Geography A river bearing the same name meanders through the meadows and neighbourhoods of this sparse municipality. Aye (died c. 711) is a Belgian Catholic saint. She has been referred to also as Aia, Aya, Agia, and St. Austregildis. She is sometimes confused with another St. Agia, the mother of the French Saint Loup of Sens. Aye is revered by the Beguines of Belgium. Her Feast Day is April 18.. Little is known about Aye's early life or date of birth, but available sources state that she was the daughter of Brunulphe I, Count of the Adrennes and a relative of Saint Waldetrudis. She was married to Saint Hidulf (or Hydulphe) of Hainault until both decided to enter religious life, after which point they parted ways. Aye joined the Abbey of Mons in Belgium, where she became a nun, and gave her property away to the nuns of Saint Waldetrudis.
