Ahmet Hakan Coşkun
Ahmet Hakan (born 11 August 1967) is a Turkish journalist and columnist working at ''Hürriyet'', CNN Türk, and Kanal D. He studied at Bursa Religious High School (Imam Hatip Lisesi) and then Bursa Divinity Faculty (Bursa Ilahiyat Fakultesi). He used to be anchor-man for the television channel Kanal 7 founded by Necmettin Erbakan the founder/leader of Welfare Party (Refah Partisi). He was appointed editor of Hürriyet in 2019. Biography Hakan Coşkun was born in Yozgat Province, on 11 August 1967. Hakan studied at Bursa Hatip school during his youth. He graduated from Bursa Divinity Faculty Bursa Ilahiyat Fakultesi. Gezi Park Protests
A wave of demonstrations and civil unrest in Turkey began on 28 May 2013, initially to contest the urban development plan for Istanbul's Gezi Park. The protests were sparked by outrage at the violent eviction of a sit-in at the park protesting the plan. Subsequently, supporting protests and strikes took place across Turkey, protesting against a wide range of concerns at the core of which were issues of freedom of the press, of expression and of assembly, as well as the AKP government's erosion of Turkey's secularism. With no centralised leadership beyond the small assembly that organised the original environmental protest, the protests have been compared to the Occupy movement and the May 1968 events. Abdulkadir Selvi (born 1964) is a Turkish columnist and journalist, currently working at ''Hürriyet''. He joined ''Yeni Şafak'' newspaper in 2001 and worked there for 15 years. Metin Göktepe (; April 10, 1968 – January 8, 1996) was a Kurdish photojournalist who was tortured and murdered in police custody in Istanbul on January 8, 1996. Life Metin Göktepe was born to a Kurdish family in Sivas on April 10, 1968, in the village of Çipil of Gürün district. He was the seventh and penultimate child of his parents. He attended primary school in Sivas until fourth grade and moved with his family to Istanbul in 1979 where he completed the fifth grade and his secondary studies in 1986. In 1989, he started attending The Department of Public Finance in the Faculty of Economics of Istanbul University, and he was introduced to politics through his older sister and brother and student associations.
