Ahmedabad–Dholera Expressway
Ahmedabad–Dholera Expressway is a long, four-lane wide (expandable to eight) access-controlled under-construction expressway in Gujarat, India. It will connect Sardar Patel Ring Road near Sarkhej in Ahmedabad with Adhelai village in Bhavnagar district via Dholera Special Investment Region (DSIR). The proposed Dholera International Airport near Navagam, about from Dholera SIR will also lie in the route. The Ahmedabad–Dholera greenfield expressway is a part of the Delhi–Mumbai Industrial Corridor (DMIC) and is expected to be ready by 2024. Construction The NHAI has divided the construction work of Ahmedabad–Dholera Expressway into four packages. Its total construction cost (excluding the cost of land) is about ₹3,196 crores. The National Highways Authority of India or NHAI () is an autonomous agency of the Government of India, set up in 1995 (Act 1988) and is responsible for management of a road network of over 50,000 km of National highways out of 1,32,499 km in India. It is a nodal agency of the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH). NHAI has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) for satellite mapping of highways. Dholera
Dholera is a town in Ahmedabad district of Gujarat state in India. History Background Dholera was also an ancient port-city in Gulf of Khambhat, 30 km. from Dhandhuka village of Ahmedabad district. Shri Swaminarayan Mandir, Dholera is one of the nine temples built by Swaminarayan. Smart city Since 2011, the Government of Gujarat has been making plans to develop a smart city at Bhal area. The economic viability of the project has been questioned by farmer organisations. Several investors who initially signed the Memorandum of Understanding to develop the project, have withdrawn and refused to invest. Dholera Special Investment Region (DSIR) is a Greenfield project, greenfield industrial planned city near Dholera in Gujarat's Ahmedabad district, around 100 kilometers to the south-west. spread over more than 920 km2, it is a new industrial city being jointly developed by the Government of India and Government of Gujarat, Gujarat. Dholera is strategically located, well connected with trade gateways and falls in the influence zone of proposed Delhi – Mumbai Industrial Corridor project (DMIC), a joint initiative by the Government of India and Japan. Sardar Patel Ring Road
The Sardar Patel Ring Road is a 76 km long ring road encircling the city of Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India. It is a toll road built by the Ahmedabad Urban Development Authority (AUDA). Built at a cost of ₹355 crore (₹3.55 billion), it was opened in 2004. Route It meets the Ahmedabad Vadodara Expressway at one point and crosses the Sabarmati River and the Mumbai-Delhi National Highway twice. The AUDA demarcated a region of 1 km around the road as a ''residential affordable housing zone'' in an attempt to improve affordable housing.
