Ahmed Zaki (actor)
Ahmed Zaki Metwally Abdelrahman Badawi (; 18 November 1949 – 27 March 2005), known as Ahmed Zaki (), was an Egyptian film actor. He was characterized by his talent, skill, and ability in impersonating. He was also famous for his on-screen intensity. Zaki is widely regarded as one of the greatest film actors in the history of Egyptian film industry. Though he first appeared in a small role in a comedy play, he is widely regarded as one of the most talented male actors, especially in dramatic and tragic roles. Zaki worked in six films that have been listed in the Top 100 Egyptian films. His first film role was in ''Abnaa Al-Samt'' (1974). Then he went on to co-star in major films such as '' Alexandria... Zagazig
Zagazig (, , ) is a city in Egypt. Situated in the eastern part of the Nile delta, it is the capital of the governorate of Sharqia. The Innocent (1986 Film)
''The Innocent'' (, pronounced: Elbaree') is an Egyptian film, released in 1986, starring Ahmed Zaki, Gamil Ratib, and Mahmoud Abdel Aziz. It is written by Wahid Hamed and directed by Atef El Tayeb. In 2005, Minister of Culture Farouk Hosny, in a rare move for the censorship-heavy region, agreed to show the movie uncut for the first time, 19 years after its production and release with heavy edits (including the removal of the controversial ending) demanded by the Ministers of Interior (Ahmed Rushdi), Defense (Abd Al-Halim Abu-Ghazala), and Culture (Ahmed Abdel Maqsoud Heikal) at the time. The 2005 screening was at the Cairo International Film Festival in honor of the then recently deceased Zaki. ''Howa wa Heya'', (“Him and Her”, “ هو و هي” ) is an Egyptian television drama, that aired for the first time during Ramadan in 1985. It featured many prominent contemporary artists in key roles, with movie stars Soad Hosni, in her sole television role, and Ahmed Zaki. The married couple drama, or dramas rather, were written by Sanaa al-Bisi and adapted by Salah Jahin into a screenplay in a rare anthology series in Egyptian television, where the same actors played different characters and storylines in each of its ten episodes. Hosni was awarded the Transtel (now part of Deutsche Welle) Prize at the African Union of Broadcasting conference in 1985 for her role in the series. Wahid Hamed
Wahid Hamed (; 1 July 1944 – 2 January 2021) was an Egyptian screenwriter. Personal life Hamed was born in Beni Quraysh, Sharqia Governorate. He moved to Cairo in 1963 to study in the Department of Sociology at Cairo University. He was married to Zeinab Sweidan, with whom he had his son, Marwan. Work as a screenwriter According to ''Egypt Independent''; "Hamed was concerned with Egyptian society and important issues within the country, and was able to eloquently narrate Egypt’s conditions, dreams, and history." He worked with a number of directors, including Samir Seif, Sherif Arafa and Atef El-Tayeb. He won several awards for his work. In 2020, he won the Golden Pyramid Appreciation Award from the 42nd Cairo International Film Festival for Lifetime Achievement.
