Miss International (''Miss International Beauty'' or ''The International Beauty Pageant'') is a Japan-based international major beauty pageant organized by the International Culture Association. First held in 1960, it is the fourth largest pageant in the world in terms of the number of national winners participating in the international contest. Along with Miss World, Miss Universe, and Miss Earth, the pageant is one of the Big Four beauty pageants. The Miss International Organization and the brand are currently owned (since 1968), along with Miss International Japan, by the International Cultural Association and Miss Paris Group. The pageant crown used by the organization is supplied and patented by the Mikimoto pearl company. In 2020 and again in 2021, the pageant was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Miss International 1960 was the first edition of the Miss International pageant, held at the Long Beach Convention and Entertainment Center, Long Beach Municipal Auditorium in Long Beach, California, United States, on August 12, 1960. Miss International 2013 was the 53rd Miss International pageant, held at the Shinagawa Prince Hotel Hall in Tokyo, Japan, on December 17, 2013. This was the second consecutive year Japan hosted the pageant. At the end of the event, Alejandra Andreu, Miss International 2008, crowned Bea Rose Santiago of the Philippines as Miss International 2013. Bea Rose Monterde Santiago (; born February 17, 1990) is a Filipino actress, model and beauty queen who was crowned Miss International 2013 on December 17, 2013. Prior to her win at Binibining Pilipinas, she was a Mutya ng Pilipinas 2011 titleholder who represented the Filipino community in Canada. She was a fashion model for Elite Model Management before joining Binibining Pilipinas 2013. is a Japanese actress, stunt woman, book author, opinion leader, social activist and beauty queen who was crowned Miss International 2012 in Okinawa. It was Japan's first Miss International win in the 52-year history of the pageant. Miss International 2012, the 52nd Miss International pageant, was held on October 21, 2012, at Okinawa Prefectural Budokan Arena Building in Okinawa, Japan. Fernanda Cornejo from Ecuador crowned her successor Ikumi Yoshimatsu from Japan at the end of the event. Yoshimatsu was dethroned shortly before the end of her reign, but she was not replaced. María Stella Márquez de Araneta (born 17 June 1937) (née Márquez Zawadski), often styled as Madame Stella de Araneta, is a Colombian-Filipino pageant director and beauty queen. She grew up in New York City and moved back to Colombia, where she became a pageant titleholder. As Miss Colombia, she was crowned the first Miss International in 1960.
