Against Me! Discography
The discography of Gainesville, Florida-based punk rock band Against Me! consists of seven studio albums, four EPs, two live albums, two DVDs, fifteen singles, five demos, and sixteen music videos. Against Me! was formed in 1997 as a solo act by singer/guitarist Laura Jane Grace (credited as Tom Gabel until 2012), occasionally performing with backing musicians. After releasing several demos and EPs the band released their debut studio album, ''Against Me! Is Reinventing Axl Rose'', through No Idea Records. Their second album, 2003's '' Against Me! as the Eternal Cowboy'', was released by Fat Wreck Chords. They followed this up with their third album ''Searching for a Former Clarity'' in 2005, which became their first album to chart on the Billboard 200. Against Me!
Against Me! is an American punk rock band, formed in 1997 in Naples, Florida, by singer and guitarist Laura Jane Grace. That same year, Grace moved to Gainesville, Florida, which is considered the band's hometown. Since 2001, the band's lineup has also included guitarist James Bowman (musician), James Bowman. After releasing three studio albums through independent record labels, Against Me! moved to Sire Records for 2007's ''New Wave (Against Me! album), New Wave'', which reached no. 57 on the Billboard 200, ''Billboard'' 200. In 2011, the band launched the record label Total Treble. In 2012, Grace publicly coming out, came out as a trans woman. After a long period of line-up changes and uncertainty surrounding the band's future, their sixth studio album, ''Transgender Dysphoria Blues,'' was released independently in January 2014 to critical and commercial acclaim. Sire Records
Sire Records (formerly Sire Records Company) is an American record label owned by Warner Music Group and distributed by Warner Records. History Beginnings The label was founded in 1966 as Sire Productions by Seymour Stein and Richard Gottehrer, each investing ten thousand dollars into the new company. Its early releases, in 1968, were distributed in the US by London Records. From the beginning, Sire introduced underground, progressive British bands to the American market. The Australian Web Archive (AWA) is a publicly available online database of archived Australian websites, hosted by the National Library of Australia (NLA) on its Trove platform, an online library database aggregator. It comprises the NLA's own PANDORA archive, the Australian Government Web Archive (AGWA) and the National Library of Australia's ".au" domain collections. The Independent Albums chart (previously titled Top Independent Albums) ranks the highest-selling independent music albums and extended plays (EPs) in the United States, as compiled by Nielsen SoundScan and published weekly by '' Billboard'' magazine. It is used to list artists who are not signed to major labels. Rankings are compiled by point-of-purchase sales obtained by Nielsen, and from legal music downloads from a variety of online music stores. The chart began in the week of February 5, 2000. The top 25 positions are published through the ''Billboard'' website, with further chart positions available through a paid subscription to Billboard.biz.
