The Nationalist Movement Party, or alternatively translated as Nationalist Action Party (, MHP), is a Turkish Far-right politics, far-right, ultranationalism, ultranationalist Political parties in Turkey, political party. Salih Fırat (born 1 January 1960) is a Turkish politician of Kurdish origin from the Justice and Development Party (AKP), who has served as a Member of Parliament for Adıyaman 28 June 2011 to 16 May 2018. Early life and career Born in Adıyaman, he graduated from Ankara University Faculty of Medicine and worked in hospitals in İzmir, Ordu and Adıyaman as an expert on orthopedics and traumatology. Mehmet Metiner (born March 5, 1960; Adıyaman) is a Turkish-Kurdish journalist, writer, and politician. He started his political career as an Islamist but joined many parties during his career. Personal life Mehmet Metiner was born on March 5, 1960, in the Kahta district of Adıyaman, as the child of Kurdish couple Bedir and Nazı Metiner. Graduated from Istanbul University Faculty of Letters. He was the editor-in-chief of the journals "Girişim", "Yeni Zemin" and "Sahne", which increased his popularity among Islamists. He began his career by joining Necmettin Erbakan's Welfare Party in 1995 until it was banned in 1998. He joined the Virtue Party right after.
