Adéla Šapovalivová
Adéla Šapovalivová (born 17 May 2006) is a Czech ice hockey left wing for MoDo Hockey of the Swedish Women's Hockey League (SDHL) and the Czech national team. Playing career From around age three, Šapovalivová regularly attended her brother's ice hockey practices and games. When he outgrew his equipment, she told her parents that she would like to play, too, and reused his gear for herself. She developed as a player on boys' teams in the junior department of HC Berounští Medvědi. At age fourteen, she played four games with the club's U17 team in the , the Czech second-tier men's U17 league, during the 2019–20 season and recorded a goal. Though she continued to spend most of her time with the boys' teams of HC Berouští Medvědi, the 2020–21 season marked the first time she played in the Czech Women's Extraliga () with a senior women's team and she notched a goal and 2 assists in two games with . The 2023 IIHF Women's World Championship was the 22nd edition of the IIHF World Women's Championship, an international ice hockey tournament organized by the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF), contested in Brampton, Canada from 5 to 16 April 2023 at the CAA Centre. The United States won their tenth title after defeating Canada 6–3 in the final, while Czechia captured bronze over Switzerland. Laila Edwards (born January 25, 2004) is an American college ice hockey player for the University of Wisconsin and a member of the United States women's national ice hockey team. Early life Edwards left her hometown of Cleveland Heights, Ohio, to attend Bishop Kearney High School in Rochester, New York, at the age of 13. During the 2021–22 season, she recorded 38 goals and 59 assists for the under-19 team at Bishop Kearney. She finished her career at Bishop Kearney with 147 goals and 266 assists in 287 games from 2018 to 2022. Tereza Plosová (born 5 July 2006) is a Czech ice hockey player for Djurgårdens IF of the Swedish Women's Hockey League (SDHL) and a member of the Czech Republic women's national ice hockey team. Sanni Vanhanen (born 1 July 2005) is a Finnish ice hockey player for Brynäs IF of the Swedish Women's Hockey League (SDHL) and member of the Finnish national team. 2022 European Youth Olympic Winter Festival
The 2022 European Youth Olympic Winter Festival was held in Vuokatti, Finland, between 20 and 25 March 2022. The festival was postponed from original dates in February to December 2021. Later it was announced that the games will be moved to 2022 as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. Vuokatti previously hosted 2001 European Youth Olympic Winter Festival. Ice hockey at the 2022 European Youth Olympic Winter Festival comprised two ice hockey tournaments in the under-17 competition class – a boys' tournament and a girls' tournament – during the Vuokatti 2022 edition of the European Youth Olympic Festival (EYOF).
