Adswood
Adswood is a suburb of Stockport, Greater Manchester, England. History Adswood Hall Built in the seventeenth century, the hall was originally inhabited by the Hirst family. By the nineteenth century, the site was a farm, and in the early twentieth century the building was sold off along with other local farmland in the course of housing developments on the site. WW2 bombing On Christmas Eve morning 1944, a German V1 bomb landed in a resident’s garden in Garners Lane, Adswood. There was one fatality and some injuries. The impact destroyed and damaged a number of houses. Brickworks Adswood was home to a number of brickworks sites belonging to the company J.&A. Jacksons, inc. 1922. The company was an important supplier for the local Manchester area, mainly in its provision of common bricks used for internal wall eaves. The Metropolitan Borough of Stockport is a metropolitan borough of Greater Manchester in North West England, south-east of central Manchester. As well as the towns of Stockport, Bredbury and Marple, it includes the outlying areas of Hazel Grove, Bramhall, Cheadle, Cheadle Hulme, Gatley, Reddish, Woodley and Romiley. Stockport is a constituency represented in the House of Commons of the UK Parliament since 2019 by Navendu Mishra of the Labour Party. History Stockport was created as a two-member parliamentary borough by the Reform Act 1832. Angela Rayner
Angela Rayner (' Bowen; born 28 March 1980) is a British politician serving as Shadow Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster, Shadow Minister for the Cabinet Office and Shadow Secretary of State for the Future of Work since 2021. She has been Shadow First Secretary of State, Deputy Leader of the Opposition and Deputy Leader of the Labour Party since 2020. Rayner has been Member of Parliament (MP) for Ashton-under-Lyne since 2015. She ideologically identifies as a socialist and as being part of Labour's soft left. Paul Warhurst
Paul Warhurst (born 26 September 1969) is an English former professional footballer who played as a defender, midfielder or striker. Warhurst notably played in the Premier League for Sheffield Wednesday, Blackburn Rovers, Crystal Palace and Bolton Wanderers. He was part of the Wednesday team who finished as FA Cup and Football League Cup runners-up in 1993, and was a Rovers player when they won the title in 1995. Prior to this he had come through the youth ranks at Manchester City and later went on to play in the Football League for Stoke City, Chesterfield, Barnsley, Carlisle United, Grimsby Town, Blackpool, Wrexham and Barnet.
