Adolfo Baines Pilart (born 15 February 1972) is a Spanish former professional Association football, footballer who played as a Goalkeeper (association football), goalkeeper, and a current Manager (association football), manager. Club career Born in Isaba, Navarre, Baines was in CD Logroñés' roster from 1995 to 1997, being part of the team that competed in La Liga in 1996–97 La Liga, the latter season but appearing in no league games. He started his active professional career in the Segunda División B, third division, with Getafe CF and Gimnàstic de Tarragona. In 2000 he moved to CD Badajoz in the Segunda División, second level, being a starter throughout his entire spell and not being able to prevent relegation in 2002–03 Segunda División, his last campaign. After beginning his career with Eltham Town he went on to play in the Football League for Queens Park Rangers, Walsall, Northampton Town and Milton Keynes Dons. In association football, a substitute is a player who is brought on to the pitch during a match in exchange for an existing player. Substitutions are generally made to replace a player who has become tired or injured, or who is performing poorly, or for tactical reasons (such as bringing a striker on in place of a defender). A player who has been substituted during a match takes no further part in the game, in games played under the standard International Football Association Board Laws of the Game. Substitutions were officially added to the Laws of the Game in 1958. In sports, an ejection (also known as dismissal, sending-off, disqualification, or early shower) is the removal of a participant from a contest due to a violation of the sport's rules. The exact violations that lead to an ejection vary depending upon the sport, but common causes for ejection include unsportsmanlike conduct, violent acts against another participant that are beyond the sport's generally accepted standards for such acts, abuse against officials, violations of the sport's rules that the contest official deems to be egregious, or the use of an illegal substance to better a player's game. In professional association football, a free transfer, also known as a Bosman transfer, involves a professional association football club releasing a player when the player's contract has expired or made available just before the end of the contract. The player can then sign for any club offering them a contract.
