Acıbadem Mehmet Ali Aydınlar University (ACU) is a non-profit foundation university in Istanbul, Turkey, dedicated to the field of health sciences. The university was founded in 2007 by Mehmet Ali Aydınlar, an entrepreneur and founder of Acıbadem Healthcare Group, Turkey's leading healthcare institution. As of 2019, ACU serves 4374 undergraduate and graduate students through School of Medicine, Faculty of Pharmacy, Faculty of Health Sciences, Faculty of Arts and Sciences, Faculty of Engineering, two Vocational Schools and four graduate schools; Institute of Health Sciences, Institute of Social Sciences, Institute of Natural and Applied Sciences, and Institute of Senology. Acıbadem Healthcare Group
The Acıbadem Healthcare Group (Turkish language, Turkish: Acıbadem Sağlık Grubu) is a Turkish healthcare institution, operating with 24,842 employees as of 2023. It comprises 21 hospitals and 16 medical centers. The group consists of a network of general hospitals, medical centers, outpatient clinics, an ophthalmology center and various laboratories. Mehmet Ali Aydınlar (born 24 July 1956 in Arapgir, Malatya Province) was the 39th President of the Turkish Football Federation. He is a minority shareholder and CEO of Turkey's leading hospital chain Acıbadem Healthcare Group. Aydınlar began his career as a financial advisor in 1981, and began working for Acıbadem Hospital in 1993. In 2000, the business expanded to become the Acıbadem Healthcare Group, becoming the only Turkish medical provider to be listed on the Turkish stock market.
