Acompáñame (album)
''Acompáñame'' (English: ''Accompany me'') is a studio album by Mexican pop singers Yuri and Mijares. Released on 25 April 2006, the idea to record together came after both had previously performed at the Auditorio Nacional in Mexico City. The album consisted mostly of some of the most beloved Spanish love songs from the 1980s. The lead single was non-cover track “Y Llegaste Tú". In interviews, Yuri stated that, “Upon the initial invitation by Mijares to record together, I felt this was the perfect moment for this record”. It went on to sell more than 100,000 earning Platinum disc. Reception Yuri and Manuel Mijares got together and decided to make this album of covers from one of the most successful songs in Spanish from the 80's. Yuri (Mexican Singer)
Yuridia Valenzuela Canseco (born 6 January 1964), known mononymously as Yuri, is a Mexican singer, actress and television presenter. She began her career as a teenager. In 1978, she released her debut album titled ''Tú Iluminas mi Vida''. She later gained recognition for participating in the OTI Festival in 1980. In the 1980s and early 1990s, Yuri established herself as one of the most popular pop music singers in Mexico and Latin America. Her vocal quality and versatility allow her to be incorporated into other musical genres, ranging from Pop music, pop to Dance music, dance, Ranchera music, ranchera and Tropical music, tropical music genres. José Manuel Mijares Morán (born 7 February 1958 in Mexico City) is an adult-contemporary pop singer who is billed as Manuel Mijares () or simply as Mijares. He began his career at age 23 and achieved high popularity from the mid-80s to mid 90s in Latin America and Japan mainly. From 1997 to 2011 he was married to Mexican singer/actress Lucero (actress), Lucero, with whom he has two children. ''Yuri'' is the 20th studio album by Mexican pop singer Yuri. Released in 2004, it has sold more than 44,000 copies. This album was also released under the name ''A lo Mexicano''. Several famous singers are featured in the album. Reception Mexican singer Yuri sang this "ranchero" album under the Sony Music production label. Sony Music distributed the album outside of Mexico, but promoted it only within Mexico. The album was released in two editions. The first edition, called "Yuri," was distributed exclusively in Mexico, USA and Puerto Rico. The second edition, called "A lo Mexicano," was remade for distribution in South America.
