Abelló Museum
The Abelló Museum is a municipal art museum located in Mollet del Vallès, in El Vallès Oriental. Opened on 29 March 1999, its principal collection comprises pieces from artist and collector Joan Abelló, which donated his collection to the city in 1996, creating the Joan Abelló Foundation, an independent organisation of the Mollet del Vallès Town Council. The museum is located in an Art Nouveau-style building from 1908, of which only the façade has been preserved. The collection The collection, entitled ''Modern art from the Abelló collection, 19th-20th centuries'', has more than 5,000 works of art, especially Catalan paintings from the 19th and 20th centuries. The collection boasts works from such artists as Ramon Casas, Modest Cuixart, Salvador DalÃ, Joan Miró, Pablo Picasso and Antoni Tà pies, in addition to Abelló’s own works. Mollet Del Vallès
Mollet del Vallès () is a municipalities of Spain, municipality in the Comarques of Catalonia, ''comarca'' of the Vallès Oriental in Catalonia, Spain. It is situated in the valley of the Besòs (river), Besòs river, and is an important communications hub from Barcelona towards the north: the Autopista AP-7, AP-7 Motorway passes through the municipality, as do the Renfe railway lines to Vic, Spain, Vic and Puigcerdà and to Girona and Portbou. Manolo Hugué
Manuel Martinez Hugué (29 April 1872 – 17 November 1945), better known simply as Manolo Hugué or Manolo, was a Spanish sculptor in the noucentisme movement. Although a friend of Pablo Picasso, his style was much closer to that of Aristide Maillol. Biography Manolo was born in Barcelona in 1872,José Manuel Infiesta Monterde (1975). Joan Ponç
Joan Ponç (November 28, 1927 – April 4, 1984) was a Catalan artist and member of the avant-garde group Dau al Set. Life and work Joan Ponç was born in the Sarrià neighborhood of Barcelona, Spain to Gumersindo Pons and Dolors Bonet. He attended the Colegio Salesiano San Antonio de Padua de Mataró boarding school from 1940-1942, during which time he decided to pursue an interest in painting. In 1946, Ponç presented his first solo art exhibition at the Sala Arte de Bilbao, and met fellow Dau al Set contributors Joan Brossa, J.V. Foix, and Arnau Puig. Over the next couple of years, Ponç actively interacted and collaborated with forerunners of the Catalan avant-garde, such as Modest Cuixart and Joan Miró. Though the Dau al Set group ultimately disbanded in 1954, Ponç continued presenting his own artwork until 1980. Josep Llimona
Josep Llimona i Bruguera (; 8 April 1864, in Barcelona – 27 February 1934) was a Spanish sculptor. His first works were academic, but after a stay in Paris, influenced by Auguste Rodin, his style drew closer to ''modernisme''. He was very prolific, and exhibited in Catalonia, Madrid, Paris, Brussels and Buenos Aires. Some of his monumental work is familiar to Barcelona residents and visitors alke. Isidre Nonell i Monturiol (30 November 1872 – 21 February 1911) was a Spanish artist known for his expressive portrayal of socially marginalized individuals in late 19th-century Barcelona. He is considered to belong to the post- Modernista generation, with an often post-impressionist brushstroke but a darker tone than many of his contemporaries. Baroque Sculpture
Baroque sculpture is the sculpture associated with the Baroque style of the period between the early 17th and mid 18th centuries. In Baroque sculpture, groups of figures assumed new importance, and there was a dynamic movement and energy of human forms—they spiralled around an empty central vortex, or reached outwards into the surrounding space.
