Aarhus Håndbold (women's Handball)
Aarhus Håndbold Women is a women's handball club based in Aarhus, Denmark. As of the 2024–25 season, the team competes in the Damehåndboldligaen. The club also includes a men's team, competing the Danish 1st Division. In June 2024, it was announced that Aarhus United and Aarhus HC had decided to merge under the new club name ''Aarhus Håndbold''. When the club was founded, Skanderborg AGF Håndbold decided to sue them, as they used the same club name as one of the founders of Skanderborg AGF, Aarhus Håndbold. In April 2025, in their first season, the club was relegated from the top level of Damehåndboldligaen to the 1st Division, placing 14th in the final standings. Ceres Arena
Ceres Arena (formerly NRGi Arena) is an indoor arena mainly used for handball matches and public events in Aarhus, Denmark. The arena was opened in 2001 and has a capacity of 5,001 spectators (4,394 seats). It is part of the Aarhus Sports Park, which also includes Aarhus Stadium. Ceres Arena is home to Danish Women's Handball League team Aarhus United Elitehandball, Aarhus United and Danish Men's Handball League team Skanderborg Aarhus Håndbold. The arena functioned as the main venue in the 2002 European Women's Handball Championship, 2002 European Women's Championships, hosting the final. The arena was also used for basketball, by Bakken Bears, but because of the high price for renting the arena, Bakken Bears moved back to there old home Vejlby-Risskov Hallen. Anna Wierzba
Anna Wierzba (born 19 July 2000) is a Danish handball player for Toulon Saint-Cyr Var Handball and the Denmark women's national junior handball team, Danish national junior team. She also represented Denmark in the 2017 European Women's U-17 Handball Championship, 2018 Women's Youth World Handball Championship, and in the 2019 Women's U-19 European Handball Championship, 2019 Women's Junior European Handball Championship, placing 6th all three times. Handball (also known as team handball, European handball, Olympic handball or indoor handball) is a team sport in which two teams of seven players each (six outcourt players and a Handball goalkeeper, goalkeeper) pass a ball using their hands with the aim of throwing it into the goal of the opposing team. AGF Håndbold is a handball club from Aarhus, Denmark and is a part of the broader multisportsclub Aarhus Gymnastikforening. Currently, AGF Håndbold competes in the women's Danish 1st Division. The home arena of the club is Atletion. The club has 500 members, and a total of 24 youth teams and 9 senior teams. History While the sports club overall was founded in 1880, the Handball department was founded in 1935. Ringkøbing Håndbold
Ringkøbing Håndbold (Ringkøbing Handball) is a Danish handball club from Ringkøbing. In the season 2023/24 the club played in the Danish Women's Handball League. When they played in the Danish 1st division, they reached the promotion play-off three times in a row in 2008/09, 2009/10 and 2010/11, but they did not manage to be promoted. In 2013 a week before the beginning of the 2013/2014 season, the top flight club Aalborg DH went bankrupt and was thus administratively relegated. Ringkøbing Håndbold were offered to take their place, which they accepted. Ringkøbing Håndbold played six seasons in the top flight before being relegated in 2018/2019 season. The next season promotion was just missed, when the club came second in the 1st division. Holstebro Håndbold is a women's team handball, handball club in the Danish 1st Division (Handball), Danish 1st Division from Holstebro, Denmark. Their home matches are played in Gråkjær Arena. History Previously, the women's team was part of TTH Holstebro. TTH decided to split up the men's and women's section in each club, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. HH90 took over the women's section and the men's stayed in TTH Holstebro. The team overtook TTH's license and thus started in the Damehåndboldligaen, top flight. The new club name Holstebro Håndbold, was announced on 14 April 2020. It was originally planned that the team should play their home matches at Idrætscenter Vest, but last minute the team decided to use Gråkjær Arena instead, as it had better facilities for spectators and sponsors. København Håndbold is a Danish women's handball club from Copenhagen, Denmark. It was established in the winter of 2013. It took over the league licence from Frederiksberg IF and is playing in the Bambusa Kvindeligaen. The club is owned by Kim Mikkelsen. History The company behind the club was founded on January 24, 2013, and on February 16th they took over the licence of Frederiksberg IF, allowing them to play in the Danish Women's Handball League. Silkeborg-Voel KFUM is a Danish handball club from Silkeborg and Voel. In the season 2023-2024 it plays in the Danish Women's Handball League. The team alternates between playing home matches in Jysk Arena in Silkeborg and Voelhallen in Voel History In 1957 Voel KFUM started around the central Jutland villages Sorring, Gjern and Voel.
