Aamchok ( ne, आमचोक) is a rural municipality (गाउँपालिका) out of seven rural municipality of Bhojpur District of Province No. 1 of Nepal. Balankha ( ne, बालंखा) (sometimes misspelled as "Walangkha") is the center (headquarter) of newly formed Aamchok rural municipality in Bhojpur District, Nepal, Bhojpur District of Province No. 1 of Nepal. Balankha was a separate Village development committee (Nepal), Village development committee before 2017. It became part of Aamchock rural municipality fulfilling the requirement of the new Constitution of Nepal 2015. Bhojpur District, Nepal
Bhojpur District ( ne, भोजपुर जिल्ला ) is one of 14 districts of Province No. 1 of eastern Nepal. The district's area is 1,507 km2 with a population of 182,459 (2011). The administrative center is Bhojpur. It is surrounded by Dhankuta and Sankhuwasabha in the east, Khotang in the west, again Sankhuwasabha in north-east and Solukhumbu in the north-west and Udayapur in the South. Etymology According to the District Coordination Committee Bhojpur, this place was named after '' Betula utilis'' - the Himalayan birch, which was found here in large quantities. A gaunpalika ( ne, गाउँपालिका, lit=rural municipality, translit=Gāum̐pālikā ) is an administrative division in Nepal. The Ministry of Federal Affairs and Local Development dissolved the existing village development committees and announced the establishment of this new local body. It is a sub-unit of a district. There are currently 460 rural municipalities. History The village development committee was the previous governing body of villages in Nepal. They were replaced on 10 May 2017 by the rural municipalities which were formed by combining different VDCs.
