ATO Records (or According to Our Records) is an American independent record label based in New York City. The label was established in 2000 by Dave Matthews and manager Coran Capshaw. ATO's roster includes My Morning Jacket, Brittany Howard, Black Pumas, Nick Hakim, Alabama Shakes, Rodrigo y Gabriela, Mattiel, Brandi Carlile, Joseph, King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard, Hurray for the Riff Raff, Benjamin Booker, Lee Ann Womack, SOJA, Okkervil River, Blind Pilot, Old 97's, Neal Francis,Drive-By Truckers, Primus, Margaret Glaspy, The Claypool Lennon Delirium, J Roddy Walston and the Business, and Amyl and the Sniffers. Dave Matthews
David John Matthews (born January 9, 1967) is an American musician and the lead vocalist, songwriter, and guitarist for the Dave Matthews Band (DMB). Matthews was born in Johannesburg, South Africa and moved frequently between South Africa, the United Kingdom, and the United States while growing up. He started playing acoustic guitar at the age of nine. From 1991 to 2003, Matthews predominantly focused on songwriting and performing with the Dave Matthews Band, which he started in Charlottesville, Virginia, in 1991. Benjamin Booker (born Benjamin Roderick Evans on June 14, 1989) is an American musician, singer, songwriter and guitarist. He cites the Gun Club, Blind Willie Johnson and T. Rex as influences. TBD Records (previously Side One Recordings) was an American record label co-founded by Coran Capshaw and Phil Costello, and is a sublabel of ATO Records, distributed by RED Distribution. The label was founded in August 2007 and quickly announced its first release, the band Underworld's first studio album in five years, '' Oblivion with Bells''. Side One Recordings gained attention when it was connected with the CD release of Radiohead's 2007 album '' In Rainbows'' in the United States and Canada. In 2008 they signed the British band Hatcham Social, releasing their debut album ''You Dig The Tunnel I'll Hide The Soil'' in June 2009. Name change from Side One Recordings Due to legal issues with a similarly named operator in the U.S., Side One Recordings was forced to change its name. Amyl and the Sniffers are an Pub rock (Australia), Australian pub rock band based in Melbourne, consisting of vocalist Amy Taylor (musician), Amy Taylor, drummer Bryce Wilson, guitarist Declan Mehrtens, and bassist Gus Romer. J. Roddy Walston and the Business was an American rock band based in Richmond, Virginia, United States. The band was formed in 2002 in Cleveland, Tennessee by J. Roddy Walston (vocals/piano/guitar). Margaret Glaspy is an American singer and songwriter based in New York City. She began playing and living in New York at 21 years old and is currently signed with ATO Records. Her debut full length album, ''Emotions and Math'', was self-produced and received critical acclaim, while her subsequent records have followed suit, from her EP ''Born Yesterday'' to her second full length ''Devotion''. Primus ( ) is an American rock music, rock band formed in El Sobrante, Contra Costa County, California, El Sobrante, California in 1984. As of March 2025, the band is composed of bassist/vocalist Les Claypool, guitarist Larry LaLonde, Larry "Ler" LaLonde, and drummer John Hoffman. Neal Francis (born Neal Francis O’Hara; September 4, 1988) is an American singer, songwriter, and pianist. Influenced by classic New Orleans artists such as Dr. John, the Meters, and Allen Toussaint, in addition to Sly Stone, Billy Preston, and Curtis Mayfield, he released his first album in 2019. Blind Pilot is an American indie folk band based in Portland, Oregon, United States. They have released four albums and one EP since 2008. History On July 15, 2008, Blind Pilot released their debut CD '' 3 Rounds and a Sound'' on Expunged Records. "Go On, Say It", was chosen to be a Single of the Week on July 7, 2008 on the iTunes chart, and for the week of July 26 the record reached number 13 on the ''Billboard'' Top Digital Albums chart. ''Allmusic'' gave the album 3.5/5 stars. Originally a duo between Israel Nebeker and Ryan Dobrowski, the band added four touring members in February 2009.
