Asociația Sportivă Răzeșii Valea Mărului, commonly known as Răzeșii Valea Mărului, is a Romanian football club based in Valea Mărului, Galați County. The team currently competes in Liga V – Galați County, the fifth tier of Romanian football. History Avântul Valea Mărului earned promotion to Liga IV – Galați County at the end of the 2012–13 season by winning Series II of Liga V – Galați County. After finishing in 5th place in the 2013–14 season, Vălmărenii claimed the county title the following season, securing a spot in the promotion play-off to Liga III. However, Avântul lost in front of Olimpia Râmnicu Sărat, the Liga IV – Buzău County winner, drawing 1–1 away before suffering a heavy 0–6 defeat at home. Sorin Frunză
Sorin Cătălin Frunză (born 29 March 1978) is a Romanian professional footballer who plays as a left midfielder for Liga IV side Avântul Valea Mărului. Frunză began his career at Dunărea Galați. After one year spent at Cimentul Fieni and Politehnica Timişoara and two one-year spells at Dacia Unirea Brăila and Jiul Petroşani, Frunză moved in 2002 to newly founded Vaslui, and spent two seasons at the club before a transfer to Universitatea Craiova in the Romanian first division. However, following a dispute between Vaslui and Craiova over $50,000 that the former was to receive from the latter, Frunză returned to Vaslui after only six months. He was appointed team captain and helped Vaslui to gain a historical promotion in Divizia A, after only three years since the club foundation. 2020–21 Liga IV
The 2020–21 Liga IV was the 79th season of the Liga IV, the fourth tier of the Romanian football league system. The season was initially postponed due to the high costs generated by COVID-19 pandemic, but on 7 April 2021, the Romanian Football Federation approved a new protocol for the amateur leagues, with lower costs. The county associations had only a month to play a blitzkrieg season, but only 24 leagues (out of 42) had a competition and announced a champion in time, three other county associations (CălăraÈ™i, Giurgiu and Vrancea) organized a competition, but which ended after the deadline imposed by the FRF.
