Akademia e Futbollit Luftëtari, commonly known as Luftëtari (), is a football club based in Gjirokastër. The club plays in the Kategoria e Parë, which is the second tier of football in the country. History After the dissolution of KF Luftëtari due to debts, the Gjirokastra Municipality in December 2020 set in motion to establish a new club as successor of the KF Luftëtari, and at the beginning of February 2021 all the criteria set by the Albanian Football Association for the functioning of the team were met and the name of the team and the logo were revealed which would again stand with the blue and black colours, exactly those characteristic of KF Luftëtari in 91 years of history. Gjirokastra Stadium
Gjirokastra Stadium () is a multi-use stadium in Gjirokastër, Albania. It is used mostly for football matches and is the home ground of KS Luftëtari Gjirokastër. The stadium has a capacity of 8,400 people. This is the first time after 1972 that the stadium is renovated in so big level. Renovation Following Luftëtari's promotion back to the Albanian Superliga in 2016, the stadium required a complete renovation in order to meet the necessary requirements to host home games in the top flight. Work on the stadium began in August 2016 and the surface was to be replaced and plastic seats were to be installed throughout the stadium. The first stage of the reconstruction was completed in November 2016, which meant that the stadium was able to host Albanian Superliga games once again. The 2021 Kategoria e Tretë was the 18th official season of the Albanian football fourth division since its establishment. The season began on 11 March 2021 and ended on 14 May 2021. There are 6 teams competing this season. Luftëtari and Murlani gained promotion to the 2021–22 Kategoria e Dytë. Luftëtari won their first Kategoria e Tretë title.
