AEK H.C. (women's Handball)
AEK Handball Club is the handball department of the major Greek multi-sports club A.E.K. It was established in 2005. The club is commonly known in European competitions as AEK Athens HC. History The department Handball of A.E.K. was founded by a decision of the General Assembly of A.E.K. on 12 July 2005. On 5 August 2005, the Greek Handball Federation accepted a merger through the absorption of the association's Board of Handball GA Ilioupolis with AEK Handball Club. During the period 2006–07, AEK Handball Club acquired the 3rd position in A1 (Greek Men's handball championship) and gained participation at European Cups for the first time. During the period 2007–08, AEK participated in EHF Cup (European Handball Federation Cup) and was eliminated by Dinamo Baumit Bucuresti in the second round. Greek Men's Handball Championship
The Greek Men's Handball Championship, or Handball Premier, is the most important competition of Greek handball. The competition which is organised by Hellenic Handball Federation (Greek: ΟΧΕ) started in the 1979–80 season. The most successful team is Ionikos Nea Filadelfeia who has won ten titles. The last title was won by Olympiacos H.C., Olympiacos. Evangelos Kalfarentzos, fitness director of Panellinios Gymnastikos Syllogos (Panellinios Gymnastikos Syllogos, Panhellenic Gymnastic Club) of Athens, physical education teacher, and author, recognized as rapporteur of the sport in Greece. Competition format The season begins with a tournament between the twelve teams. The first six teams qualify for a play-off round, while the last three play play-out. AHC Potaissa Turda
AHC Potaissa Turda is a team handball, men's handball club from Turda, Romania, that plays in the Liga Națională (men's handball), Romanian Handball League. Potaissa Turda is a notable Romanian team in the last decade. In the last four years, is the only team that have qualified to the Final 4 of the national championships, in every season. Potaissa Turda won the EHF Challenge Cup in 2018, after a final against AEK Athens. Turda was promoted to the first division in 2011. Potaissa Turda's fairytail story began back in 2007, when their home sports hall, ''Gheorghe Baritiu'', was inaugurated and the team's players could play finally in Turda. The 2019–20 EHF Challenge Cup was the 23rd edition of the European Handball Federation's third-tier competition for men's Team handball, handball clubs, running from 5 October 2019 to 24 May 2020.
