A63 Road
The A63 is a major road in Yorkshire, England between Leeds and Kingston upon Hull. A section between North Cave and Hull forms the eastward continuation of the M62 motorway and is part of the unsigned European route E20, Euroroute E20. Route Leeds to Howden The route from Leeds out to Selby runs roughly parallel, and between south of the route of the Leeds and Selby Railway. The route begins just east of Leeds city centre at a junction with the A61 road, A61, although, before its February 2009 realignment along the new East Leeds Link Road, it began at a junction with the A64 road, A64 in the Halton Moor area of the city (now signed as the B6159). Brough, East Riding Of Yorkshire
Brough ( , locally ) is a town in the East Riding of Yorkshire, England. It is part of the civil parish of Elloughton-cum-Brough with the neighbouring village of Elloughton. A61 Road
The A61 is a major trunk road in England connecting Derby and Thirsk in North Yorkshire by way of Alfreton, Clay Cross, Chesterfield, Sheffield, Barnsley, Wakefield, Leeds, Harrogate and Ripon. The road is closely paralleled by the M1 motorway between Derby and Leeds. Route Heading south, the road begins as single carriageway from Thirsk which bypasses Ripon and travels towards Harrogate, eventually passing through Harrogate town centre. Here, the road divides into two major one-way streets which enclose the town centre and run along The Stray, a stretch of grassland in Harrogate. As Leeds Road, it then passes through the southern suburbs of Harrogate before meeting the A658 near the village of Pannal. Roman Ridge is a bridleway that was part of the Roman road of Ermine Street, between Scawsby and Redhouse to the north of Doncaster, England. This footpath departs from the A638 road at The Sun junction with the A635 (or Barnsley Road). Its course runs at an angle bisecting the angle made between the two modern roads. Kippax, West Yorkshire
Kippax is a town and civil parish in the City of Leeds, West Yorkshire, England. It is situated to the east of the city, near to Garforth and Great Preston. The Kippax and Methley ward of Leeds City Council is part of the UK Parliament constituency of Selby (UK Parliament constituency), Selby. The population of Kippax parish at the 2011 United Kingdom census, 2011 census was 9,785. Kippax was a separate civil parish, in Tadcaster Rural District, until 1939, when it was annexed to Garforth. Leeds Country Way
The Leeds Country Way (LCW) is a circular long-distance footpath of around Leeds in West Yorkshire, England. It is never more than from the city centre of Leeds, but is mainly rural with extensive views in the outlying areas of the Leeds metropolitan district. It follows public rights of way including footpaths, bridleways and minor lanes, with a few short sections along roads. It can be walked in sections, accessed from roads with public transport links, but has also been completed by a runner in less than 11 hours. History A route was first devised by Fred Andrews of the Ramblers Association, and then developed by West Yorkshire County Council in the early 1980s. This council was abolished in 1986, and the path is now under the care of the countryside section of Leeds City Council. A642 Road
The A642 is an A-road in West Yorkshire, England which runs from Huddersfield to the A64 near Leeds. It partly follows the route of a historic turnpike road, which is evidenced by surviving toll houses. The road begins at Waterloo east of the town centre at the junction with A629 and continues via Lepton to Grange Moor where the A637 branches off. From there it passes through Middlestown and Horbury (on the Horbury bypass) and leads to the junction with A638 west of Wakefield City Centre. M1 Motorway
The M1 motorway connects London to Leeds, where it joins the A1(M) motorway, A1(M) near Aberford, to connect to Newcastle upon Tyne, Newcastle. It was the first inter-urban motorway to be completed in the UK; the first motorway in the country was the Preston Bypass, which later became part of the M6 motorway, M6. The motorway is long and was constructed in four phases. Most of the motorway was opened between 1959 and 1968. The southern end was extended in 1977 and the northern end was extended in 1999. A high-occupancy vehicle lane (also known as an HOV lane, carpool lane, diamond lane, 2+ lane, and transit lane or T2 or T3 lanes) is a restricted traffic lane reserved for the exclusive use of vehicles with a driver and at least one passenger, including carpools, vanpools, and transit buses. Cross Green is a mainly industrial area of Leeds, West Yorkshire, England. It is around on a hill to the south east of Leeds city centre, with the A63 road (Pontefract Lane) running through the middle and dividing it into a residential estate with playing fields and housing to the north, and a large industrial estate to the south.
