A4540
The A4540 is a ring road in Birmingham, England, also known as the Middle Ring Road, or the Middleway. It runs around the centre (St Philip's Cathedral) of the city at a distance of approximately . Birmingham City Centre is the area within this ring road. The ring road was planned and designed by Herbert Manzoni. It is now simply known as the Ring Road due to the removal of the old Inner Ring Road. The traffic island at Dartmouth Circus houses a preserved Boulton and Watt steam engine, the Grazebrook beam engine. The Middleway forms the boundary to Birmingham Clean Air Zone. Plans to make The Middleway a red route were proposed as early as 2008 but dropped in 2021. A41 Road
The A41 is a trunk road between London and Birkenhead, England. Now in parts replaced by motorways, it passes through or near Watford, Kings Langley, Hemel Hempstead, Aylesbury, Bicester, Solihull, Birmingham, West Bromwich, Wolverhampton, Newport, Whitchurch, Chester and Ellesmere Port. With the opening of the M40 extension in 1990 from junction 8, much of the route was downgraded. A441 Road
A441 is an A-road in England which runs from central Birmingham to Cookhill, Worcestershire. Route The A441 starts on the A4540 The Middleway in Birmingham as a non primary route, running largely parallel to the A38. It passes Calthorpe Park and the suburbs of Selly Park, Stirchley, Cotteridge, Kings Norton and West Heath before leaving the West Midlands and entering Worcestershire. The village of Alvechurch is bypassed to the East, connecting with the M42 at junction 2, where there is a service station. Known as the Hagley Road in Birmingham, the A456 is a main road in England running between Central Birmingham and Woofferton, Shropshire, south of Ludlow. Some sections of the route, for example Edgbaston near Bearwood, are also the route of the Elan Aqueduct which carries Birmingham's water supply from the Elan Valley. A38 Road
The A38, parts of which are known as Devon Expressway, Bristol Road and Gloucester Road, is a major A-class trunk road in England. The road runs from Bodmin in Cornwall to Mansfield in Nottinghamshire. It is long, making it the longest two-digit A road in England. It was formerly known as the ''Leeds–Exeter Trunk Road'', when this description also included the A61. The A47 is a major road in England linking Birmingham to Lowestoft, Suffolk. Most of the section between Birmingham and Nuneaton is now classified as the B4114. Highgate Middleway
Highgate is an area of Birmingham, England. Following the Big City Plan of February 2008, Highgate is now a district of Birmingham City Centre. This area is regarded as the site of the original Anglo-Saxon settlement which gave the city of Birmingham its name. Birmingham Central Mosque is one of Highgate's most distinctive buildings. The area mainly consists of commercial premises and modern council-owned residential properties. Older buildings include Stratford House, the Church of St. Alban the Martyr and the large Victorian houses opposite Highgate Park.
