Abdul Rahim Abu (19 May 1930 – 20 April 1992) better known by her stage name A. Rahim, was a Malaysian actor and director. Starting his entertainment career on the big screen during the golden age of Malay cinema, he was known for his antagonistic roles in films produced by Malay Film Productions, earning him the nickname 'Rahim Debuk'. Career He mostly acted in Malay Film Productions films and also acted in Cathay-Keris Film Productions films (''Rumah Itu Dunia Aku'' and ''Chuchu Datok Merah''). On average, he played a lot of antagonistic roles - only three times he played protagonistic roles such as in the film ''Isi Neraka'', '' Ibu Mertua-ku'' and ''Anak Buloh Betong'' as well as a comedic roles in the film '' Ali Baba Bujang Lapok'' when he played Momotaro-san, one of the 40 rogues of Japanese-Muslim descent and that's how his name began to be recognized. Kuala Kangsar (Perak Malay: ) is the royal town of Perak, Malaysia. The Malay Film Productions Ltd., also known as the Shaw Studio, is a former film studio located on Jalan Ampas in Balestier, Singapore. The studio operated from 1947 to 1969 with more than 150 movies produced, and was a major contributor to Singapore's "golden age" of Malay cinema. ''Ibu Mertuaku'' ( Malay: ''My Mother In-Law'') is a 1962 Singaporean Malay-language black-and-white melodrama film directed by and starring silver-screen legend P. Ramlee. The film's story revolves around the tragic love affair between Kassim Selamat, a poor musician, and Sabariah, the only daughter of a wealthy woman. The movie is notable in that the opening act starts out as a light-hearted romantic comedy, but at the 30 minute mark turns into a dramatic tragedy. Like a number of P. Ramlee's works, the film criticises the unofficial caste system that separates the wealthy from the poor. Bukit Kepong (film)
''Bukit Kepong'' ( English: ''Kepong Hill'') is a 1981 Malaysian Malay-language war film produced and directed by Jins Shamsuddin starring himself, A. Rahim and Hussein Abu Hassan. The film was based on the Bukit Kepong incident in 1950. The film has won eight awards in the third Malaysia Film Festival in 1982, including Best Film. In 2014, the film was re-edited by United Studios (a distributing and marketing company of KRU International), which had invested MYR 100,000 in restoring and improvement for high definition (HD) display resolution of the original film. It was reproduced in HD version; as ''Bukit Kepong Versi Digital HD'' a year later.
