9th President Of The United States
William Henry Harrison (February 9, 1773April 4, 1841) was an American military officer and politician who served as the ninth president of the United States. Harrison died just 31 days after his inauguration in 1841, and had the shortest presidency in United States history. He was also the first United States president to die in office, and a brief constitutional crisis resulted as United States presidential line of succession, presidential succession was not then fully defined in the United States Constitution. Harrison was the last president born as a British subject in the Thirteen Colonies and was the paternal grandfather of Benjamin Harrison, the 23rd president of the United States. James Lambdin
James Reid Lambdin (May 10, 1807 – 1889) was an American born artist, famous for many of his portraits of U.S. Presidents. Barratt C. R., & Zabar, L., ''American Portrait Miniatures in the Metropolitan Museum of Art'' (New Haven: Yale University Press, 2010)p. 183 Life Lambdin was born on May 10, 1807, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He later studied art in Philadelphia for two years (1823–25) under the tutelage of Thomas Sully. He is famous for his portraits of U.S. Presidents, including portraits of William Henry Harrison and Zachary Taylor. Lambdin became professor of fine arts at the University of Pennsylvania. He had one son, George C. Lambdin, born in 1830 in Pittsburgh. In 1839, he was elected into the National Academy of Design as an Honorary Academician.
