The nine arrondissements of Lyon are the administrative divisions of the City of Lyon. Unlike the spiral pattern of the arrondissements of Paris, or the meandering pattern of those in Marseille, the layout in Lyon is more idiosyncratic. This is for historical reasons: following the annexation of the communes of , La Croix-Rousse and Vaise in 1852, the newly enlarged city was divided into 5 arrondissements, which originally spiralled out anticlockwise from the ''Hôtel de Ville'' ( Town Hall); however, as the city's population expanded, it became necessary to split certain arrondissements, giving rise to today's seemingly random pattern. Le Bachut
Le Bachut is a quarter in the 8th arrondissement of Lyon. It is bisected the avenue Berthelot and rue Marius Berliet. Served by the tram, it is connected to the Presqu'île, to the Hôpital Édouard-Herriot and the university campus of Bron. In May 2007, the library of Bachut called Médiathèque Marguerite Duras was inaugurated, at the Place du 11 November 1918. The Maison de la danse of Lyon is in the quarter. Laënnec is a quarter of the 8th arrondissement of Lyon, in France. Avenue Berthelot is a street in the 7th (Guillotière) and 8th arrondissement (Bachut) of Lyon which connects the Galliéni bridge at the east to the A43 highway via the avenue Jean Mermoz which extends it to the west. History Formerly named avenue des Ponts as it was drawn as an extension of the two Ponts Napoléon (currently named Pont Galliéni and Pont Kitchner), the street acquired its current name on 25 March 1907, after the chemist Marcellin Berthelot who had died on 18 March 1907. Maison De La Danse
The Maison de la danse is a theater located in the 8th arrondissement of Lyon, France. It was founded in 1980 in the Théâtre de la Croix-Rousse before moving in 1992 in what was called the Théâtre du 8ème. This very important place for dance in the Rhône-Alpes region makes programming of international companies and of young companies of Rhône-Alpes. The building also hosts resident company in a creative studio and has a basic reference document on dance with a library composed of over 1,000 shows filmed. Chambéry (, , ; Arpitan: ''Chambèri'') is the prefecture of the Savoie department in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region of eastern France.
