7 Regiment RLC is a regiment of the British Army's Royal Logistic Corps. History 7 Tank Transporter Column of the Royal Army Service Corps, was established in 1961, following the expansion of the transportation element of the British Army of the Rhine. In 1965, upon the creation of the Royal Corps of Transport, the unit was re-designated as the 7 Tank Transporter Regiment of the new corps. Upon transferring to the new corps, the regiment consisted of 16 Tank Transporter Squadron, 3 Tank Transporter Squadron, 612 Tank Transporter Unit, 617 Tank Transporter Unit, 607 Mobile Civilian Transport Group, and 625 Mobile Civilian Transport Group; however by 1972, the regiment had been reduced to 3, 16, & 617 Tank Transporter Squadrons. Regiment
A regiment is a military unit. Its role and size varies markedly, depending on the country, service and/or a specialisation. Royal Army Service Corps
The Royal Army Service Corps (RASC) was a corps of the British Army responsible for land, coastal and lake transport, air despatch, barracks administration, the Army Fire Service, staffing headquarters' units, supply of food, water, fuel and domestic materials such as clothing, furniture and stationery and the supply of technical and military equipment. 159 Regiment RLC is a reserve regiment of the British Army's Royal Logistic Corps. It forms part of 102 Logistic Brigade. History The regiment was formed on 1 April 2007 as a product of Future Army Structures (FAS) with the aim of providing the contingent component to 6 Supply Regiment. The regiment was made-up of one sub-unit from the Scottish Transport Regiment (125 Squadron), one squadron from 150 Regiment RLC (216 Squadron) and two squadrons from the Welsh Transport Regiment (123 Squadron and 237 Squadron). 158 Regiment Royal Logistic Corps, is a reserve regiment of the British Army's Royal Logistic Corps. 102nd Logistic Brigade (102 Log Bde) is a logistic brigade of the British Army. Its role is to force generate and force prepare fighting elements, including the Headquarters, globally, for current operations and deliver capability to contingent forces as directed by 1st UK Division in order to support the delivery of operational success.
