70th San Sebastián International Film Festival
The 70th San Sebastián International Film Festival took place from 16 to 24 September 2022 in San Sebastián, Gipuzkoa, Spain. The awards were announced on 24 September 2022, with '' The Kings of the World'' winning the Golden Shell. Background Partnering with the Málaga Film Festival, the 70th edition will feature 'Spanish Screenings XXL', a beefed up joint version of the 'Spanish Screenings' film market, hitherto showcased at Málaga. In May 2022, French actress Juliette Binoche was revealed to be the protagonist of the film's official poster as well as the recipient of a Donostia honorary career award. ''Prison 77'' ( es, Modelo 77, links=no) is a 2022 Spanish historical thriller drama film directed by Alberto Rodríguez from a screenplay co-written with Rafael Cobos which stars Miguel Herrán and Javier Gutiérrez. Set in the late 1970s in Barcelona's Modelo Prison, the plot consists of a critical revision of the so-called Transition in Spain, focusing on the plight of inmates imprisoned on common charges claiming for an amnesty that, unlike the case of fellow political prisoners, never came to pass. ''Cork'' ( ca, Suro, links=no) is a 2022 Spanish rural drama film directed by Mikel Gurrea which stars Vicky Luengo and Pol López alongside Ilyass El Ouahdani. It is shot in Catalan. Petr Václav (born 11 June 1967) is a Czech film director and screenwriter whose films have received many awards, both in the Czech Republic and internationally. He has lived in Paris since 2003 and holds both French and Czech citizenship.
