5.56×21mm PINDAD
The 5.56×21mm PINDAD was a personal defence weapon round previously developed in Indonesia. The round is based on the 5.56×45mm NATO cartridge, being a cut down version of it. It is sometimes known as 5.56×23mm. Development The 5.56x21 2.65g (~41gr) projectile fired out of a 190mm (7.5in) long barrel has a muzzle velocity around 508-510 m/s. The cartridge is only used in the Pindad PS-01. See also * .22 TCM References

Personal Defence Weapon
Personal defense weapons (PDWs) are a class of compact, magazine (firearm), magazine-fed automatic firearms that are typically Submachine gun, submachine guns designed to fire rifle cartridge, rifle-like cartridges. Most PDWs fire a small-caliber (generally less than in bullet diameter), high-velocity centerfire cartridge (firearm)#Case, bottleneck cartridge resembling a scaled-down intermediate cartridge, essentially making them an "in-between" hybrid between a submachine gun and a conventional carbine assault rifle. The use of these rifle-like cartridges gives the PDWs much better ballistic performance (effective range, external ballistics and armor-piercing bullet, armor-penetrating capability) than conventional submachine guns, which fire larger-caliber but slower and less aerodynamic handgun cartridges. The low recoil of these "sub-intermediate" cartridges also makes muzzle rise, muzzle jumps on PDWs (which typically have short gun barrel, barrels) much easier to handle than ...

Pindad PS-01
The Pindad PS-01 (''Pistol Serbu, literally Assault Pistol'') is a PDW-caliber pistol developed by Pindad. History The PS-01 was developed by Colonel Rihahanto, who developed the pistol from August to September 2007. Working models were first shown at the 2008 Indo Defence Expo & Forum. After field tests were conducted, the Indonesian military dropped the PS-01 from consideration since it did not have full auto capabilities. Development The PS-01 can be equipped with a suppressor on the barrel with pistol-based tactical accessories attached underneath the barrel, using 18-round magazines. It was meant to be used by special forces units, tank and aircraft crew personnel as a self-defense weapon. The pistol has a barrel length of 190 mm and a weight of 1.234 kg. Its effective firing range is at 100 meters. References Semi-automatic pistols of Indonesia 5.56 mm firearms Trial and research firearms {{Pistol-stub ...

22 TCM
The .22 TCM (Tuason, Craig, Micromagnum) is a proprietary bottlenecked rimless cartridge derived from a 5.56×45mm NATO (.223 Remington) parent case. It was developed by custom gunsmith Fred Craig in collaboration with Martin Tuason, the President of Rock Island Armory (RIA) and Armscor. The cartridge is primarily used in Rock Island Armory M1911 pistols and the M22 TCM bolt-action rifle. Initially known as the .22 Micro-Mag, the .22 TCM is conceptually similar to other bottlenecked pistol cartridges, such as the 7.62×25mm Tokarev and the FN 5.7×28mm. The design prioritizes high velocity and reduced recoil by trading bullet mass for speed, making it suitable for various applications. Design and features The .22 TCM is based on the 5.56×45mm NATO case, shortened to match the overall cartridge length of the .38 Super. This design results in a cartridge approximately 3 mm longer than a standard 9×19mm round. The .22 TCM was specifically engineered for the Rock Island A ...

Pistol And Rifle Cartridges
A pistol is a type of handgun, characterised by a barrel with an integral chamber. The word "pistol" derives from the Middle French ''pistolet'' (), meaning a small gun or knife, and first appeared in the English language when early handguns were produced in Europe. In colloquial usage, the word "pistol" is often used as a generic term to describe ''any'' type of handgun, inclusive of revolvers (which have a single barrel and a separate cylinder housing multiple chambers) and the pocket-sized derringers (which are often multi-barrelled). The most common type of pistol used in the contemporary era is the semi-automatic pistol. The older single-shot and lever-action pistols are now rarely seen and used primarily for nostalgic hunting and historical reenactment. Fully-automatic machine pistols are uncommon in civilian usage because of their generally poor recoil-controllability (due to the lack of a buttstock) and strict laws and regulations governing their manufactur ...
