46th Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival
The 46th International Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival () was a film festival held in Antalya, Turkey which ran from 19 to 17 October 2009. This edition of the International Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival was the first to be organised solely by the Antalya Foundation for Culture and Arts (AKSAV), a cultural body affiliated with the Antalya Greater Municipality, and the first to have an international section within the main body of the festival. Emrah Yucel (born May 24, 1968), is a Turkish advertising and graphic designer based in Los Angeles, USA. He specialized in motion picture advertising as well as country and city branding. Yucel was born as the son of a screenwriter mother and a film director father. While his father was working for the BBC at the time, he began elementary school in London. Those years influenced him to follow the path of a designer. After returning to Turkey, he continued his education and graduated from Hacettepe University. ''Envy'' () is a 2009 Turkish drama film, written and directed by Zeki Demirkubuz based on the novel of the same name by Nahit Sirri Orik, about a married woman who has an affair with the son of a rich man. Evrim Alataş
Evrim Alataş (born 15 April 1976; Gölpınar, Akçadağ – 12 April 2010; Diyarbakır) was a Kurdish writer, journalist, screenwriter and human rights activist. Alataş is described as the first female Kurdish writer of Turkey. Her works include the film Min Dît: The Children of Diyarbakır from 2009, which won the grand jury prize at the 46th Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival. Born in the village of Gölpınar in Malatya in 1976 to a Kurdish family, Alataş started her journalism career in 1994 by working as a reporter and editor at various left-wing newspapers such as Yeni Politika, Özgür Bakış, Ülkede Özgür Gündem and later as a columnist for Evrensel and BirGün. Many of her writings for these newspapers were about Kurds in Turkey. Alataş died in 2010 from cancer in her home in Diyarbakır and was buried in her home village of Gölpınar. ''The Master'' () is a 2009 Turkish drama film, directed by Bahadır Karataş, starring Yetkin Dikinciler as a small town car mechanic in who builds a small biplane in his backyard. The film, which went on nationwide general release across Turkey on , won a Best Supporting Actress nomination for Hasibe Eren at the 3rd Yeşilçam Awards. Plot Dogan, a car mechanic in a small town, is obsessed with flying. He has been building a small biplane in his back yard for years. His wife Emine does not share his affinity for aviation and feels neglected in their marriage. When Dogan's plane crashes during an aeronautics fair, she gives him an ultimatum: he can either pursue his passion for flying or live a humble life with her, solely as a car mechanic.
