The 3rd Hong Kong Awards ceremony, honored the best films of 1983 and took place on 4 August 1984, at the Regent International Hotel, Hong Kong. Chung King-fai
Chung King-fai, SBS, is a Hong Kong actor and pioneer of contemporary performing art. He is also a director, TV producer, programme host and performing arts educator. He is the founder and president of the Hong Kong Federation of Drama Societies, Art Form Panels of the Hong Kong Leisure and Cultural Services Department, Chairman of Exploration Theatre, and Art Director of Hong Kong Arts Development Council. Education and career Chung finished his secondary education in Pui Ching Middle School before studying at Chung Chi College, at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, majoring in English. He received a BA degree in Speech and Drama from Oklahoma Baptist University and his master's degree in Fine Arts from Yale School of Drama (1962). Back in Hong Kong, he was an actor and executive producer with the two major television broadcasters, and lecturer at Hong Kong Baptist University. Li Han-Xiang
Richard Li Han-hsiang (; 7 March 1926 in Jinxi, Liaoning – 17 December 1996 in Beijing) was a Chinese film director. Li directed more than 70 films in his career beginning in the 1950s and lasting till the 1990s. His '' The Enchanting Shadow'', ''The Magnificent Concubine'', and '' Empress Wu Tse-Tien'' were entered into the Cannes Film Festival in 1960, 1962, and 1963 respectively. Li also won the Golden Horse Film Festival and Awards for his work on the movie ''Xi Shi'' in 1965. Most of his movies in the 1970s and 1980s were Chinese historical dramas. Hong Kong Film Award For Best Actress
The Hong Kong Film Award for Best Actress is an award presented annually at the Hong Kong Film Awards (HKFA). It is given to honour an actress who has delivered an outstanding performance in a Hong Kong film. The 1st Hong Kong Film Awards ceremony was held in 1982, with no formal nomination procedure established; the award was given to Kara Hui for her role in ''My Young Auntie''. After the first award ceremony, a nomination system was put in place whereby no more than five nominations are made for each category and each entry is selected through two rounds of voting. Firstly, prospective nominees are marked with a weight of 50% each from HKFA voters and a hundred professional adjudicators, contributing towards a final score with which the top five nominees advance to the second round of voting. Winners And Sinners
''Winners and Sinners'' (, also known as ''5 Lucky Stars'') is a 1983 Hong Kong action comedy film written and directed by Sammo Hung, who also starred in the film. The film co-stars Jackie Chan and Yuen Biao, the latter serving as one of the film's action directors. It was the first in the ''Lucky Stars'' series of films a highly successful series in Hong Kong. The film co-stars Chan in a significant role as an error-prone police officer. It also features a cameo appearance from Yuen as another police officer who gets into a fight with Chan's character. The film is followed by ''My Lucky Stars'' and ''Twinkle, Twinkle Lucky Stars'', insofar as the "Five Lucky Stars" concept and many of the same actors return in those latter films. However, the character names and indeed their roles differ - Stanley Fung's character is the nominal "leader" of the quintet in ''Winners and Sinners'', whereas Hung's character takes the mantle in the latter films. Richard Ng
Richard Ng Yiu-hon (born 17 December 1939), also known as Richard Woo, is a Hong Kong actor known for playing comedic roles, particularly in Hong Kong films of the 1980s and 1990s. Film and television career Ng has appeared in 80 films to date. He has twice been nominated for the Best Actor Award at the Hong Kong Film Awards, for his roles in ''Winners and Sinners'' and ''Beyond the Sunset''. He has worked alongside some of the biggest names in Hong Kong action cinema including Jackie Chan, Michelle Yeoh, Andy Lau and Jet Li. 1970s, 80s and 90s Ng's first role was in the 1976 Michael Hui comedy film '' The Private Eyes''. Sammo Hung
Sammo Hung Kam-bo ( zh, t=洪金寶, j=Hung4 Gam1-bou2; born 7 January 1952) is a Hong Kong actor, martial artist, film producer and Film director, director, known for his work in martial arts films, Hong Kong action cinema, and as a fight choreography, fight choreographer for other actors such as Jackie Chan. Hong Kong Island is an island in the southern part of Hong Kong. Known colloquially and on road signs simply as Hong Kong, the island has a population of 1,289,500 and its population density is 16,390/km2, .
