2014 Likud Leadership Election
A leadership election was held by the Likud party on 31 December 2014. It was won by incumbent Prime Minister and leader of Likud Benjamin Netanyahu. Background Incumbent Benjamin Netanyahu was expected from the beginning to run for re-election. Leading an extremely fragile coalition, the Prime Minister wanted to shore up his internal support by holding an extremely early primary, years before the mandated date of a possible election. However, the government collapsed in December 2014, and an early election was mandated for 17 March 2015, over two years earlier than necessary. Timing An early poll showed that the prime minister would lose to Gideon Sa'ar in the primary; so, Netanyahu asked the Likud Central Committee to move up the 6 January date to 31 December, to make sure that Sa'ar didn't have the time to mount a campaign. Benjamin Netanyahu 2012

Yuval Steinitz
Yuval Steinitz ( he, יוּבַל שְׁטַיְינִיץ; born 10 April 1958) is an Israeli politician who currently serves as a member of the Knesset for the Likud party. He also held several ministerial posts, including Minister of Finance, Minister of Intelligence, Minister of Strategic Affairs and Minister of Energy. Avraham Neguise
Avraham Neguise ( he, אַבְרָהָם נֶגוּסֵה, born 10 February 1958) is an Israeli politician and activist for the Falash Mura community. Biography Avraham Neguise was born in the city of Gondar in northern Ethiopia, where he worked as a shepherd. Neguise aliyah, immigrated to Israel in 1985. Nava Boker
Nava Prehi-Boker ( he, נאוה פרחי-בוקר, born 15 November 1970) is an Israeli journalist and politician. Biography Nava Boker was born and raised in Pardes Hanna-Karkur. Her parents were Jewish immigrants from Yemen. A journalist by profession, Boker worked for both Yedioth Ahronoth and Ma'ariv, as well as Channel 1. She married and had two daughters, then divorced. At age 27, as a reporter, she met Hadera police chief Lior Boker, and married him. Ayoob Kara
Ayoob Kara ( ar, أيوب قرا, he, איוב קרא; born 12 March 1955) is an Israeli Druze politician. He has served as a member of the Knesset for Likud in four spells between 1999 and 2021, and as Minister of Communications. Biography Kara was born in Daliyat al-Karmel, a Druze town near Haifa, in 1955. He went to an agricultural high school in Kfar Galim. Makhlouf "Miki" Zohar (, born 28 March 1980) is an Israeli politician. He currently serves as the Minister of Culture and Sports in the thirty-seventh government. Zohar previously served as a member of the Knesset for Likud and chairman of Global Likud. Biography Makhlouf Zohar was born in Beersheba, and raised in Kiryat Gat. A former Minister of Internal Security and Shin Bet director, he resigned from the Knesset and left Kadima in August 2012 in order to become Minister of Home Front Defense, a position he vacated in March 2013. Yoav Kisch ( he, יוֹאָב קִישׁ; born 6 December 1968) is an Israeli pilot and politician. Biography Kisch was born and raised in Tel Aviv. His paternal grandfather was Frederick Kisch, the highest-ranking Jew ever to serve in the British Army. David Hai Bitan ( he, דָּוִד בִּיטָן, born 8 April 1960) is an Israeli lawyer and politician. He currently serves as a member of the Knesset from the Likud party.
