2005 ICC Trophy
The 2005 ICC Trophy was a cricket tournament held in Ireland between 1 July and 13 July 2005. It was an international one-day tournament played over 50 overs per side between 12 Associate Members of the International Cricket Council. It served as the final part of the Cricket World Cup qualification process, coming with the prize of a place in the 2007 Cricket World Cup (and together with it a share of US$2.5 million for future development) for the five top-ranked teams, and with the prize of official One-Day International status from 1 January 2006 (until the 2009 ICC Trophy) for the five top-ranked teams along with Kenya (who had already been given official one-day status until the 2009 ICC Trophy and a spot in the 2007 World Cup). International Cricket Council
The International Cricket Council (ICC) is the world governing body of cricket. Headquartered in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, its members are 108 national associations, with 12 Full Members and 96 Associate Members. Sight Screen
In cricket, a sight screen is an apparatus, often comprising wooden or poly-carbonate slats, or cloth sheeting, on a large frame made of wood or another material, that is positioned alongside the cricket field to provide the batsmen a clear view of the bowler's deliveries, such that distractions including spectators do not disturb the batsman. Typically, two sight screens are actively deployed on a field during live play, each positioned a short distance behind the boundary rope. From the perspective of a batsman facing a delivery on the pitch, one sight screen is directly past the bowler's end, or at the straight boundary, while the other is directly behind the batsman, or at the long stop boundary. Clay Smith (cricketer)
Clay James Smith (born 15 January 1971) is a former Bermudian international cricketer who represented the Bermudian national team between 1991 and 2007. He also coached the team from 2015 to 2018. Having debuted for Bermuda in 1991, Smith first came to notice at the 1994 ICC Trophy in Kenya, where he ranked fourth in overall runs scored and helped his team to the semi-finals. He remained one of Bermuda's leading batsmen for over a decade, appearing in another three ICC Trophy tournaments and also in several editions of the West Indian domestic one-day competition (where Bermuda competed as a guest team). In the 1997–98 Red Stripe Bowl, Smith scored two centuries (against the Windward Islands and Jamaica), becoming the first Bermudian to score a List A hundred. Irving Howard Romaine (born 8 August 1972), previously incorrectly known as Irvine Romaine, is a Bermudian cricketer, who played with the Bermudian cricket team in their first ever One Day International when they played Canada on 17 May 2006. Romaine scored 25 runs as Bermuda won the game by three wickets under the Duckworth-Lewis method. Saleem Mukuddem (born 20 January 1972) is a former South African born Bermudian cricketer who played twenty One Day Internationals for the Bermuda national cricket team. Dean Anthony Minors (born 6 January 1970) is a former Bermudian international cricketer. He played as wicketkeeper with the Bermuda national cricket team in their first One Day International when they played Canada on 17 May 2006. Russell Dwayne Mark Leverock (born 14 July 1971) is a former Bermudian cricketer. Living above an Indian restaurant in Bermuda, Leverock is a jailer. Lionel Olvin Bernard Cann (born 3 October 1972) is a Bermudian cricketer. He is an aggressive right-handed middle order batsman and a right-arm medium pace bowler. In his 22 ODI games to date he has struck 28 sixes.
