2025–26 Wessex Football League
The 2025–26 Wessex Football League season will be the 40th in the history of the Wessex Football League since its establishment in 1986. The league consists of two divisions: the Premier Division and Division One. The constitution was announced on 15 May 2025. The Premier Division (step 5) promotes two clubs; one as champions and one via a four-team play-off. Premier Division The Premier Division remains at 20 clubs, after A.F.C. Portchester and Fareham Town were promoted to the Isthmian League South Division, and Blackfield & Langley and United Services Portsmouth were relegated to Division One. Wessex Football League
The Wessex Football League, known as the Velocity Wessex Football League for sponsorship reasons, is an English regional men's Association football, football league in southern England. Its members are primarily from Hampshire and Dorset, but clubs from adjoining counties such as Wiltshire, Berkshire, Surrey, and the Isle of Wight are also eligible. The Premier Division is one of the sixteen recognised leagues to form the ninth level of the English football league system (known as Step 5 of the National League System), and Division One is one of seventeen recognised leagues at level 10 (Step 6). Champions of the Wessex League who meet the relevant ground and financial requirements are eligible for promotion to the Southern Football League, Southern League Division One South or Isthmian League Division One South Central. Verwood is a town and civil parish in eastern Dorset, England. The town lies north of Bournemouth and north east of Poole as the crow flies. The civil parish comprises the town of Verwood together with the extended village of Three Legged Cross, and in 2014 had a population of 15,170 (according to Dorset County Council). Sherborne is a market town and civil parish in north west Dorset, in South West England. It is sited on the River Yeo, on the edge of the Blackmore Vale, east of Yeovil.
