2025–26 Segunda División
The 2025–26 La Liga 2, also known as La Liga Hypermotion due to sponsorship reasons, will be the 95th season of the Segunda División since its establishment in Spain. It will start in August 2025 and is scheduled to end in June 2026. Teams Team changes Promotion and relegation (pre-season) A total of 22 teams will contest the league, including 15 sides from the 2024–25 season, three relegated from the 2024–25 La Liga, and four promoted from the 2024–25 Primera Federación. ;Teams promoted to La Liga On 25 May 2025, Levante became the first side to mathematically be promoted, assured of a return to the top flight after a three-year absence following a 3–2 victory against Burgos. The Campeonato Nacional de Liga de Segunda División, commonly known as Segunda División or La Liga 2, and officially known as LaLiga HyperMotion for sponsorship reasons, is the men's second professional association football division of the Spanish football league system. 2025 Segunda División Play-offs
The 2024–25 Segunda División play-offs were played from 7 June to 21 June 2025 and determined the third team promoted to La Liga for the following season. Teams placed between 3rd and 6th position took part in the promotion play-offs. Regulations The regulations were the same as the previous season: in the semi-finals, the fifth-placed team faced the fourth-placed team, while the sixth-placed team faced the third. Each tie were played over two legs, with the team lower in the table hosting the first leg. The team that scored more goals on aggregate over the two legs advanced to the next round.
