2025–26 Cymru South
The 2025–26 Cymru South season (also known as the 2025–26 JD Cymru South season for sponsorship reasons) is the sixth season of the second-tier Southern region football in Welsh football pyramid. The season began on 25 July 2025 and will conclude on 18 April 2026. This is the first season where the top three teams will be promoted to the Cymru Premier, as the top division increases to 16 teams from the 2026-27 season. Teams The league consisted of sixteen teams; twelve teams remaining from the previous season, three teams promoted from the Ardal Leagues, and one team relegated from the Cymru Premier. Team changes The following teams changed division since the 2024–25 season. The promoted teams were the 2024–25 Ardal SE champions Treowen Stars, the 2024–25 Ardal SW champions Cardiff Draconians, and the 2024–25 Ardal Southern play-off winners Ynyshir Albions. Cymru South
The Cymru South is a regional association football, football league in Wales, covering the southern half of the country. It initially had clubs with semi-professional status. Together with the Cymru North, it forms the second tier of the Welsh football league system. The first year of its operation was in 2019–20 with the Football Association of Wales owning and administering the tier 2 leagues for the first time. These changes followed on from a review of the Welsh Football Pyramid. Prior to 2019, the equivalent league was the Welsh Football League Division One, covering South Wales. Park Avenue, Aberystwyth
Park Avenue (Welsh: ''Coedlan y Parc'') currently called Aberystwyth University Stadium for sponsorship purposes, is a football stadium in Aberystwyth, Wales and has served as the home of Cymru Premier side Aberystwyth Town since 1907. The stadium capacity is 5,000 with 1,500 seats. It is a 4G artificial turf pitch. In May 2021, the ground was designated UEFA Category 2 status after successful inspection by Standards Officer Scott Struthers. The ground is adjacent to the River Rheidol and close to the shore of Cardigan Bay. The ground has a bar, named after John Charles, who played in the Wales national football team. Layout The ground has five areas: the Railway End, named after the former Carmarthen to Aberystwyth Line; the Dias Stand after a former Green Legend; the Rhun Owens Stand after a former secretary; the Shed End and the Narks Corner. Aberystwyth
Aberystwyth (; ) is a University town, university and seaside town and a community (Wales), community in Ceredigion, Wales. It is the largest town in Ceredigion and from Aberaeron, the county's other administrative centre. In 2021, the population of the town was 14,640. Located in the Historic counties of Wales, historic county of Cardiganshire, means "the mouth of the River Ystwyth, Ystwyth". The Cambrian ( ) is the first geological period of the Paleozoic Era, and the Phanerozoic Eon.
