2025–26 Bahraini Premier League
The Bahraini Premier League is the main domestic football competition in the kingdom of Bahrain. Currently known as the Nasser bin Hamad Premier League, the first season was held in 1956-1957. The winners of the domestic championship qualify for the AFC Champions League Two. The championship is currently contested by 12 clubs. Structure Current structure 12 clubs currently play a two round robin set of fixtures totaling 22 games in order to determine the league champions. Although games are theoretically to be played on a home and away basis, almost all games are played at the National Stadium. The eleventh and twelfth-placed clubs are relegated with the ninth and tenth entering the relegation play-offs. The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) is the governing body of association football, beach soccer, and futsal in most countries and territories in Asia. The AFC was formed in 1954. It has 47 members. The Asian Ladies Football Confederation (ALFC) was the section of AFC that managed women's association football in Asia. 2008–09 Bahrain Classification Soccer League
This season, Bahraini Premier League will be known as the Bahrain Classification Soccer League 2008–09 and will consist of 19 teams which will play each other once. The top 10 teams will join the new Premier League in 2009–10 and the bottom 9 teams will form a new Division 2 championship. Manama Club (football)
Manama Club () is a Bahraini professional football club based in Manama. Founded in 1946, the club competes in the Bahraini Premier League, the top flight of football in the country. Manama Club, formally known as Al Taj, is a well-known basketball club in the Gulf and Asia. They have won two Gulf Championships, and were the first-ever Bahraini club and only the second Gulf club to come in third place in the 2000 ABC Champions Cup. Manama Club has won over 45 basketball titles in domestic competitions. The club is not as successful in football, however they won their first two titles, the Bahraini King's Cup and Bahraini Super Cup, in 2017. Al-Khaldiya Sports Club, also known as Al Khalidiyah, is a professional football club based in Hamad Town, Bahrain, that competes in the Bahraini Premier League, the top domestic football competition. It is the newest formed football club in Bahrain, established in 2020. The home ground of the team is Bahrain National Stadium with a capacity of 28,900. Al-Ahli Club (Manama)
Al-Ahli Club of Manama () is a Bahraini football club based in Manama, Bahrain. History Al Ahli (formerly known as Al Nusoor), along with Muharraq Club, is considered to be the pillar of sports in Bahrain. Another club known as Al Tursana (which reached the Bahraini King's Cup in 1969) merged with Al Nusoor to form Al-Ahli Club. The matches between Al Ahli and Muharraq are known to draw the largest fan attendance in the Bahraini league and is considered to be the Bahrain derby.
