2025 Taça Da Liga Final
The 2025 Taça da Liga final was the final match of the 2024–25 Taça da Liga, the eightteenth season of the Taça da Liga. It was played on 11 January 2025 at Estádio Dr. Magalhães Pessoa. The competition was contested exclusively by clubs competing in the two professional divisions of Portuguese football – the top-tier Primeira Liga and the second-tier Liga Portugal 2. This season featured only eight teams in the competition. Benfica and Sporting CP faced off for the third time in a rematch of the 2022 final. In the final, Benfica won the final 7–6 after a penalty shoot-out, to earn their eighth title, and their first title since 2016. Background The competition format was changed this season, featuring the return of the final four format with both the semi-finals and the final being played over a space of a few days in the same venue. 2024–25 Taça Da Liga
The 2024–25 Taça da Liga was the eighteenth edition of the Taça da Liga (also known as Allianz Cup for sponsorship reasons), a football league cup competition organised by the Liga Portuguesa de Futebol Profissional and contested exclusively by clubs competing in the two professional divisions of Portuguese football – the top-tier Primeira Liga and the second-tier Liga Portugal 2. This season featured only eight teams in the competition. Format As a response to the increasing density of the football calendar, the competition introduced a new format compared to the previous seasons, featuring only eight teams instead of the all the teams from Primeira Liga and Liga Portugal 2. 2009 Taça Da Liga Final
The 2009 Taça da Liga final was a football match between Benfica and Sporting CP which was held on the 21 March 2009 at Estádio do Algarve, Faro. It was the final match of the 2008–09 Taça da Liga, the 2nd season of the Taça da Liga, a football competition for the 32 teams in the Primeira Liga and the Liga de Honra. Benfica were appearing in their first final, while Sporting were appearing in the final for the second time; having lost the previous season's final to Vitória de Setúbal. After a goalless and uneventful first half, Sporting scored the first goal of the game through Bruno Pereirinha in the 48th minute. Benfica equalized in the 75th minute through Spanish winger José Antonio Reyes who converted from the penalty spot. Francisco Trincão
Francisco António Machado Mota de Castro Trincão (; born 29 December 1999) is a Portuguese professional footballer who plays as a winger for Primeira Liga club Sporting CP and the Portugal national team. Geovany Tcherno Quenda (; born 30 April 2007) is a Portuguese professional Association football, footballer who plays as a Winger (association football), right-winger or Wing back (association football), right wing-back for Primeira Liga club Sporting CP.
