2025 Paraguayan División Intermedia
The 2025 División Intermedia season is the 107th season of the second-tier league of Paraguayan football and the 28th under the División Intermedia name. The season began on 28 March and is scheduled to end on 8 October 2025, and the fixtures for the season were drawn on 9 December 2024. Format 16 teams take part in the competition, which will be played under a double round-robin system with teams playing each other twice, once at home and once away for a total of 30 matches. The top two teams at the end of the season will be promoted to the Paraguayan Primera División for the 2026 season, while the bottom three teams in the relegation table at the end of the season will be relegated: teams from Asunción or located within 50 kilometres of Asunción will be relegated to Primera División B, while teams from outside Greater Asunción and the Central Department will be relegated to Primera División B Nacional. The División Intermedia (), also known as the Segunda División (), is the third highest professional football league in Paraguay. It is organized by the Asociación Paraguaya de Fútbol. Overview Since 1910 the second division tournaments have changed rules, number of teams and names. As of 2006, División Intermedia is the name for the second division and 16 teams are part of it. The champion and the runner-up of this league gains the right to participate in the Liga Paraguaya: Primera División, the Paraguay's top division of football. The last three teams are relegated to the third division (called "Primera de Ascenso" for teams from Gran Asunción and Primera División Nacional B for teams outside of the Gran Asunción area). 2024 Paraguayan Primera División Season
The 2024 Primera División season (officially the Copa de Primera Tigo – ueno bank 2024 for sponsorship reasons) was the 90th season of the Paraguayan Primera División, the top-flight professional football league in Paraguay. The season, which consisted of two tournaments (Apertura and Clausura), began on 19 January and ended on 29 November 2024. The fixtures for the season were announced on 4 December 2023. Libertad entered the season as defending champions, having won both of the tournaments played in the 2023 season, and won a third league championship in a row in the Torneo Apertura, clinching their 25th league title with a 3–1 win over Olimpia on the last round of the tournament on 5 June. Club Atlético Colegiales, known as Atlético Colegiales or simply Colegiales, is a football club from the Cuatro Mojones neighborhood in Lambaré, Paraguay. It was founded in 1977 by the Zacarías family. Deportivo Recoleta, or simply known as Recoleta, is a Paraguayan association football club from the neighbourhood of the same name, in Asunción; founded in 1931.
