2025 PVF Season
The 2025 PVF Season is the second season of the Pro Volleyball Federation. The regular season began on January 9 and will end on May 4. The league expanded to 8 teams with the debut of Indy Ignite. Transactions Retirement * On May 9, 2024, Emiliya Dimitrova announced her retirement after the inaugural PVF season. Dimitrova earned the Opposite Hitter of the Year Award and was named to the All-PVF First team in her only season with the Grand Rapids Rise. * On June 29, 2024, the Omaha Supernovas announced that Jess Schaben-Lansman retired from professional volleyball to take a coaching role at Blair High School, a local high school in Silver Springs, Maryland. Volleyball
Volleyball is a team sport in which two teams of six players are separated by a net. Each team tries to score points by grounding a ball on the other team's court under organized rules. It has been a part of the official program of the Summer Olympic Games since Tokyo 1964. Beach volleyball was introduced to the program at the Atlanta 1996 Summer Olympics. The adapted version of volleyball at the Summer Paralympic Games is sitting volleyball. Basic play The complete set of rules is extensive, but play essentially proceeds as follows: a player on one of the teams begins a 'rally' by serving the ball (tossing or releasing it and then hitting it with a hand or arm), from behind the back boundary line of the court, over the net, and into the receiving team's court. The receiving team must not let the ball be grounded within their court. Fishers Event Center
The Fishers Event Center is an arena in Fishers, Indiana. It is owned by the City of Fishers. The arena is the new home of the Indy Fuel of the ECHL. As well as the Fuel, Fishers Event Center hosts the Indy Ignite of the Pro Volleyball Federation, the Fishers Freight of the Indoor Football League, concerts, and high school graduations. Addition Financial Arena
Addition Financial Arena (formerly known as CFE Arena and UCF Arena) is a sports and entertainment arena located near Orlando in Orange County, Florida, United States, on the main campus of the University of Central Florida. Jessica Ann Mruzik (born June 15, 2002) is an American professional volleyball player for LOVB Houston. She played college volleyball for the Michigan Wolverines and the Penn State Nittany Lions, which she led to the 2024 national championship. She was named first-team All- Big Ten four times and first-team AVCA All-American in her championship season. Early life Mruzik was raised in Livonia, Michigan, the daughter of Jeff and Jackie Mruzik. She began playing volleyball as a fourth grader. She wanted to play for the Michigan Wolverines from an early age and was a ball girl for the team in middle school. She attended Mercy High School in Farmington Hills, Michigan, being named all-state all four years. Elena Scott (born July 1, 2003) is an American volleyball player for the Indy Ignite of the Pro Volleyball Federation. She played collegiately at Louisville Cardinals. A libero or defensive specialist, she was a three-time AVCA All-American and two-time Atlantic Coast Conference Defensive Player of the Year. Early life Scott grew up in Louisville, Kentucky, the daughter of Sheri and Robert Scott. She attended Mercy Academy and played club volleyball for PNK Volleyball. College career Scott made 3.81 digs per set in her freshman season with the Louisville Cardinals, having been moved from setter to libero by head coach Dani Busboom Kelly. She helped Louisville go 32–0 before falling to Wisconsin in the semifinals of the 2021 national championship. She was named Atlantic Coast Conference all-freshman and second-team All-ACC.
