2025 Hockey East Men's Ice Hockey Tournament
The 2025 Hockey East men's ice hockey tournament was the 40th tournament in the history of the conference. It was played between March 12 and March 21, 2025. As the tournament champions, Maine received the conference's automatic bid into the 2025 NCAA Division I men's ice hockey tournament. This was the first Hockey East title won by a school outside Massachusetts since 2004, also won by Maine. Format The tournament includes all eleven teams in the conference, with teams ranked according to their finish in the conference standings. Seeds 1–5 earn a bye into the quarterfinal round, while seeds 6–11 play to determine the remaining quarterfinalists. Winners in the opening round are reseeded and advanced to play top three seeds in reverse order. Winners of the quarterfinal matches are again reseeded for the semifinal, and the winners of those two games face off in the championship. 2024–25 NCAA Division I Men's Ice Hockey Season
The 2024-25 NCAA Division I men's ice hockey season began on October 4, 2024 and concluded with the NCAA championship on April 11, 2025. This was the 77th season in which an NCAA ice hockey championship is being held and will be the US college hockey's 131st year overall. Conference realignment Shortly after the 2023–24 season, the men's Atlantic Hockey Association and women's College Hockey America formally merged under the new name of Atlantic Hockey America, retaining the Association's AHA initialism. Cameron Lund
Cameron Lund (born June 7, 2004) is an American professional ice hockey player for the San Jose Sharks of the National Hockey League (NHL). He played college ice hockey at Northeastern. Early life Lund was born on June 7, 2004, in Bridgewater, Massachusetts. Lund went to high school at Cushing Academy where played for one season. While there, he played on a line with Collin Graf, who would go on to play for the San Jose Sharks. Playing career Junior During the 2021–22 season, Lund recorded 25 goals and 25 assists in 62 games for the Green Bay Gamblers in the United States Hockey League (USHL). For the 2022–23 season, Lund enrolled at Northeastern University where he played for three seasons. In his junior year at Northeastern, he received Hockey East Third All-Star Team honors. Defence or defense (in American English) in ice hockey is a player position that is primarily responsible for preventing the opposing team from Goal (ice hockey), scoring. The Hockey East All-Tournament Team is an honor bestowed at the conclusion of the NCAA Division I Hockey East conference tournament to the players judged to have performed the best during the championship. Currently the team is composed of three forwards, two defensemen and one goaltender with additional players named in the event of a tie. Voting for the honor is conducted by the head coaches of each member team once the tournament has completed and any player regardless of their team's finish is eligible. Toscano Family Ice Forum
The Toscano Family Ice Forum is an ice hockey arena on the main campus of the University of Connecticut in Storrs, Connecticut. The arena opened in January 2023 and has a capacity of 2,600 spectators. History Despite being an NCAA Division I school, the UConn Huskies operated their ice hockey program at the Division III level for many years. Cole Eiserman (born August 29, 2006) is an American college ice hockey winger for Boston University of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). He was selected in the first round, 20th overall, by the New York Islanders in the 2024 NHL entry draft. Harold Alfond Sports Arena is a multi-purpose arena in Orono, Maine, United States. The arena opened in 1977. It is home to the University of Maine Black Bears ice hockey teams. Jacob Fowler (born November 24, 2004) is an American professional ice hockey goaltender for the Laval Rocket of the American Hockey League (AHL) while under contract to the Montreal Canadiens of the National Hockey League (NHL).
