2025 FA Cup Final
The 2025 FA Cup final was a football match played at Wembley Stadium in London, England, on 17 May 2025 between Crystal Palace and Manchester City that determined the winners of the 2024–25 FA Cup. It was the 144th final of English football's primary cup competition, the Football Association Challenge Cup. Crystal Palace won the match 1–0 after a first-half goal from winger Eberechi Eze and a penalty save by goalkeeper Dean Henderson, resulting in the club winning their first-ever major trophy. As winners, they earned the right to play in the league phase of the 2025–26 UEFA Europa League, as well as against Liverpool, the winners of the 2024–25 Premier League, in the 2025 FA Community Shield. 2024–25 Premier League
The 2024–25 Premier League was the 33rd season of the Premier League and the 126th season of English football overall. Manchester City entered the season as four-time defending champions, but were dethroned by Liverpool, who emerged as Premier League champions for the second time with four games to spare, equalling Manchester United's record of 20 English league titles. The fixtures were released on 18 June 2024, consisting of 33 weekend rounds, four midweek rounds, and one Bank Holiday matchweek. The two-week winter break, in effect since the 2019–20 season, was scrapped starting this season in favour of a longer summer break for the players. Liam Joseph Roberts (born 21 November 1994) is an English professional footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for Mansfield Town. Career Walsall Roberts began his career playing for Willenhall Town FC under manager Ian Boucher before joining Walsall's youth academy academy, to then go in to join Romulus on a work experience loan on 4 December 2012. Jean-Philippe Mateta (; born 28 June 1997) is a French professional footballer who plays as a striker for club Crystal Palace. Mateta began his career with Châteauroux before signing for Ligue 1 side Lyon in 2016. Following a successful loan to second-division side Le Havre, he signed for Bundesliga club Mainz 05 in 2018, before joining Crystal Palace in 2021, where he won the FA Cup in 2025. Justin Devenny (born 11 October 2003) is a professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for club Crystal Palace. Born in Scotland, he plays for the Northern Ireland national team.
