2024–25 Premier League
The 2024–25 Premier League was the 33rd season of the Premier League and the 126th season of English football overall. Manchester City entered the season as four-time defending champions, but were dethroned by Liverpool, who emerged as Premier League champions for the second time with four games to spare, equalling Manchester United's record of 20 English league titles. The fixtures were released on 18 June 2024, consisting of 33 weekend rounds, four midweek rounds, and one Bank Holiday matchweek. The two-week winter break, in effect since the 2019–20 season, was scrapped starting this season in favour of a longer summer break for the players. Longer intervals between matches were added for the holiday period between Christmas and New Year's Day, with no matches held on Christmas Eve. The 2025–26 Premier League will be the 34th season of the Premier League and the 127th season of English football. The fixtures were released on 18 June 2025 at 09:00 BST. This will be the first full season where semi-automated offside technology is in use, following its introduction during the previous season, on 12 April 2025. The 2025–26 season will consist of 33 weekend and five midweek rounds of matches. Puma will replace Nike as the official match ball supplier from this season. The 2023–24 Premier League was the 32nd season of the Premier League and the 125th season of English football overall. The season began on 11 August 2023, and concluded on 19 May 2024. Manchester City, the defending champions, won their fourth consecutive title, the first team to do so. This season was significant as it was affected by points deductions handed out to both Everton and Nottingham Forest, as part of the Premier League’s crackdown on financial breaches by clubs. Everton received two separate points deductions (a 10-point deduction, later reduced to six, in November 2023 and a further two-point deduction in April 2024) whilst Forest received a four-point deduction in March 2024.
